With Authorization from the Federal Revenue Service Granted, the Port of São Francisco Managed to Complete the Opening of a New Gate in the Complex and Expanded Its Infrastructure to Achieve Even Greater Efficiency in Truck Circulation and Cargo Transport

The administration of the Port of São Francisco, located in the state of Santa Catarina, received authorization from the Federal Revenue Service to complete the opening of the new gate and inaugurated the structure this Friday, (05/13). Now, the trucks that transport cargo in the complex will have an even more efficient infrastructure to ensure faster and safer operations.

Federal Revenue Service Authorizes the Administration of the Port of São Francisco to Open a New Gate for Truck Circulation in the Complex

Investment in infrastructure is the main objective of the current Brazilian port sector, aiming to attract even more investors to the complexes. And, this Friday, the Port of São Francisco took another step towards an even more efficient future in cargo transport operations on-site. This comes as a new gate was opened for the circulation of the trucks that perform loading and unloading operations within the complex.

This is a project that has been awaited for several years, but only now has the Federal Revenue Service granted the necessary authorization for the opening of the structure. And, although the constructions of three new scales to further expand the infrastructure on-site have been completed, only one will be opened for operation in this first week. This is because a few inspections and safety analyses of the equipment are still required, so that the gate can start working at full capacity for truck circulation.

Moreover, the administration of the Port of São Francisco stated that, over the next few weeks, it will continue investing in the infrastructure of the location to open the other scales and bring even more efficiency to cargo transport. Currently, the port has an average flow of 500 trucks per day, equivalent to 1,000 movements, relying on just two scales. And, by the end of the port’s infrastructure project, with the start of the use of five scales, it will be possible to accommodate up to 1,500 trucks per day, reaching 3,000 movements.

New Gate Opened at the Port Terminal São Francisco Features Cutting-Edge Technology and Is the New Bid of the Location for the Necessary Improvements in the Complex Infrastructure

The new infrastructure construction plan for the Port of São Francisco ensured that the gate opened this week features cutting-edge technology aimed at bringing even more efficiency and safety to cargo transport operations. Thus, the site has an automated system to inspect the entry and exit of trucks at the port. Additionally, there is biometric recognition for drivers, through the palm of their hands, which will prevent them from having to exit their trucks.

Finally, the structure will also feature some modern cameras responsible for reading and identifying vehicle license plates, speeding up cargo movement. With all this investment made by the port, the cargo transport infrastructure will become increasingly efficient within the port complex in the coming months.

Thus, the president of the Port, Cleverton Vieira, commented on the importance of the initiative for the Port of São Francisco and for the expansion of cargo transport, stating that “The project, with an investment of R$ 4 million, has been awaited for years by the port community, as it will allow overcoming a historical bottleneck in truck movement at the Port, significantly optimizing the loading and unloading of goods.”
