After more than ten years, Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) is indeed revitalizing its workforce with the announcement of a new contest. President Silvia Massruhá, during the 50th anniversary celebration of the institution, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to growth and innovation, highlighting the importance of human capital in agricultural research, according to jcconcursos.

However, the news of the contest came to light last Thursday, 25, amidst the celebrations for Embrapa’s anniversary, which now marks 51 years. President Massruhá expressed gratitude to President Lula and Minister Carlos Fávaro for their continuous support, emphasizing that the strength of national agriculture lies in the intellect of its professionals. Thus, this announcement marks a new chapter for Embrapa, which seeks to fill up to 1,061 vacancies authorized by Sest in 2021.

The announcement of the upcoming notice occurred during the commemorative ceremony for the company’s 51st anniversary.

“Our greatest asset is our people, the researchers, the analysts, the technicians, and assistants of Embrapa. We thank you, Mr. (President Lula), Minister Carlos Fávaro (of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply of Brazil), and the entire team for the opportunity for the Embrapa contest that had not occurred in more than 10 years. As our dean, Dr. Eliseu, says, the secret of Brazilian agriculture is that it is built on brains and not on machines”, stated the president.

In his speech, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply of Brazil, Carlos Fávaro, also highlighted the importance of people for science and the execution of the public contest.

“As Silvia has already said, you cannot do science only with investment. Science is made with people, contests, investment in qualification, ensuring that we will not outsource research assistants (…) It is a commitment from President Lula that the research assistant will be selected through a contest and will continue in this very important career of brilliant minds”, he said.

Although specific details about the distribution of vacancies have not yet been disclosed, it is certain that the positions will be aimed at candidates with high school and higher education.
