After Mark Zuckerberg’s Promise About the Future of Technology, A Company Surprises the Market by Presenting a Revolutionary Device That Nobody Expected.

In recent years, the race to transform consumer technology has gained a new level of intensity, with companies competing to create the device that could replace smartphones. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently stated that smart glasses are the future and have the potential to make cell phones obsolete.

To develop its smart glasses, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta directed billions in investments towards research, integrating ergonomic design with cutting-edge components, such as high-efficiency microprocessors, compact cameras, and lenses capable of displaying information in real time.

However, despite these efforts, Meta’s device has not yet achieved Mark Zuckerberg’s ambitious vision.

Surprisingly, at CES 2025, a new protagonist stole the show: Halliday unveiled smart glasses that not only challenge but surpass the offerings of giants like Meta, Google, and Apple, raising the industry standard.

The Revolution Promised by Mark Zuckerberg

Last September, during an interview, Mark Zuckerberg made a bold statement claiming that smart glasses will become the primary tech platform by the 2030s.

According to him, this technology will be so integrated into daily life that the use of smartphones will become less relevant. “There will come a point when your smartphone will spend more time in your pocket than in your hand,” the executive stated, highlighting the convenience of smart glasses.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta has already invested billions in the development of augmented reality (AR) and wearable devices, such as the Ray-Ban Stories.

However, while the market still waits for innovations that truly replace smartphones, Halliday has taken a step ahead.

Halliday at CES 2025: An Innovative Surprise to Compete with Mark Zuckerberg

At CES 2025, Halliday presented a device that redefines industry standards. The brand’s smart glasses impressed with their combination of functionality and innovative design.

Unlike the offerings from Meta and Apple, the Halliday device integrates an invisible display within the frame, instead of projecting it onto the lenses.

This unique approach addresses weight and comfort issues, making them lighter and more practical for everyday use.

Weighing only 35 grams, the Halliday glasses are lighter than the Meta Ray-Bans, which weigh 48 grams. Despite their light weight, the glasses offer a wide range of functionalities:

  • Real-time translations for over 40 languages;
  • Notification, text, and note display;
  • Navigation with step-by-step instructions;
  • Adjustments for different visual prescriptions, with a dial that allows the display to be tailored to the user’s needs.

The device also features long battery life, supporting up to 12 hours of continuous use — a significant improvement over competing models, which struggle with battery limitations.

Technology Ahead of Its Time

One of the standout features of the Halliday glasses is the display integrated into the frame, which uses the smallest optical module in the world, measuring just 3.6 mm. Although small, it projects information with the same clarity as a 3.5-inch screen.

Furthermore, the display is positioned above the main line of sight, preventing obstructions while the user looks ahead.

This makes usage more natural and less intrusive compared to other similar technologies.

The glasses also offer an innovative feature: the “Digi Window,” which allows users to clearly view texts, icons, and graphs.

During demonstrations at the event, features such as teleprompter, message reading, and navigation were praised for their accuracy and ease of use.

These advancements place Halliday ahead of renowned competitors, showing that innovation can come from smaller companies, outside the realm of traditional giants.

The Challenge of Surpassing Smartphones

Although Halliday’s smart glasses represent a technological milestone, replacing smartphones remains a monumental task.

Cell phones are more than just communication tools—they centralize our digital lives, with functions ranging from entertainment to productivity.

For smart glasses to become the primary choice for consumers, they will need to surpass smartphones in terms of practicality, cost, and compatibility.

Price is another important factor. The Halliday glasses have a starting price of US$ 489, with a launch promotional offer of US$ 369.

While competitive compared to other devices on the market, it is still a premium technology, inaccessible for many consumers. Mass success will depend on gradual cost reductions and increased production to meet global demand.

Meta, Google, and Apple

Although companies like Meta, Google, and Apple dominate the wearable tech market, Halliday has managed to stand out by solving problems that others still face.

The lightness, ergonomic design, and practical functionality of their glasses place the company in a favorable position. This raises an important question: to what extent are the tech giants prepared to meet consumers’ expectations with complete and accessible solutions?

Mark Zuckerberg, in his statements, emphasized the importance of making technology invisible and integrated into daily life.

However, devices like the Ray-Ban Stories and Apple’s Vision Pro still face adoption challenges due to their high prices and lack of widely desired functionalities.

Halliday, on the other hand, has shown that it is possible to deliver an advanced experience without compromising comfort or practicality.

A Redefined Future

Halliday’s presentation at CES 2025 is a reminder that innovation can come from anywhere. While Mark Zuckerberg continues to advocate for a vision of a future dominated by smart glasses, Halliday has taken a concrete step in that direction by presenting a device that, in many ways, surpasses what Meta, Google, and Apple have offered so far.

If Mark Zuckerberg’s promise comes true, the coming years will bring an unprecedented transformation in how we interact with technology.

More than just a replacement for smartphones, smart glasses represent a shift in how we perceive and use digital tools.

The question now is whether the market will be ready to adopt this new era and whether the tech giants can keep pace with the evolution led by companies like Halliday.
