The Start Of Sales Of The New Shell V-Power Gasoline In Brazil Is Scheduled For November 1st And Should Not Generate Price Fluctuations Beyond Those Already Occurring In The Market.

After 5 years of extensive research, fuel specialists from the powerful Shell, one of the largest oil, petrochemical, and solar energy companies in the world, modified the formula of V-Power gasoline, which received a new package of additives. The company is also preparing advancements for diesel and ethanol offered at the stations. These changes will be gradually announced between the end of this year and the first half of 2023.

The new and exclusive Shell V-Power features the most modern package of fuel additives that restore vehicle performance and clean up to 100% of the accumulated residues in the internal parts of the combustion engine.

And it doesn’t stop there; periodically refueling with the new gasoline also allows for fuel savings, reduces wear on the combustion engine over the vehicle’s lifespan, and decreases CO2 emissions from the vehicle’s exhaust system.

“The new Shell V-Power gasoline brings the INFINITY technology, which delivers even more performance and efficiency, promoting rejuvenation in engine performance and enabling more efficient fuel combustion,” explains Gilberto Pose, fuel specialist at Raízen, licensed by the Shell brand.

Price Difference Between Regular Gasoline And V-Power Will Be Maintained

The new fuel, which is set to be sold starting November 1st, is suitable for all types of vehicles, from those powered by gasoline combustion engines, such as flex cars, to both low and high-performance vehicles.

According to Pose, the price difference between regular gasoline and V-Power will be maintained, and the new additive should not cause price fluctuations beyond those already happening in the market.

According to Shell, the new additives of the brand were developed with the same technology used by Scuderia Ferrari, a partner of the company for 75 years and one of the leading references in demand and quality in the automotive segment worldwide. The product is also the only fuel in its category recommended by BMW and Ducati.

Vibra Energia, Shell’s Competitor, Has Also Launched Versions Of The Grid And Podium Gasolines From Petrobras

Shell’s strategy is similar to that adopted by Vibra Energia in February when the updated versions of the Grid and Podium gasolines from Petrobras were launched.

In common, the competing companies say that the cleaning power of their additive fuels removes practically 100% of the dirt that can accumulate in the combustion engine.

The concern with the formation of crusts in combustion engines is primarily due to the electronic systems for emissions management — which, in many cases, are associated with direct gasoline injection and turbocharging.

Volkswagen Boss Announces Cessation Of Production Of Gasoline And Diesel Combustion Engines

The multinational Audi, part of the Volkswagen Group, had already recently announced that it would no longer develop any combustion engine and that the automaker’s focus would be on manufacturing electric cars. Now, the German company itself has embraced the idea, and the brand’s boss announced, in May 2021, the end of the development and production of this type of engine, whether gasoline or diesel.

According to information from Ralf Brandstätter, CEO of Volkswagen, in an interview with Automobilwoche, the German automaker will continue to only update and revise the current gasoline and diesel combustion engines to make them more efficient. The reason for this measure is that the multinational will heavily invest in manufacturing and producing electric cars.

The executive did not specify how much longer we will still see gasoline and diesel engines in Volkswagen cars, but it is indicated that they should remain for the next 10 years
