Petrobras’ FPSO P-71 Had Its Hull Built in China and the Installation of Modules and Integration Done at the Jurong Shipyard.
Petrobras informed, in a relevant fact this morning (10/17), that the P-71 floating production storage and offloading vessel left the Jurong Aracruz shipyard in Espírito Santo on Saturday (15) towards the Itapu field, in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin.
It is worth noting that the construction of P-71 began in China and was completed on December 3 in the Asian country. The installation of its modules and the integration were done at EJA, where it generated more than 6,000 job vacancies.
P-71 Will Enter Operation in December 2022 and Is Expected to Reach Its Peak Production by the End of 2023.
Originally designed for the Tupi field, the giant FPSO P-71 measures 316m in length and 54m in width. Its delivery was successfully completed this October 2022.

Petrobras approved the final investment decision for SEAP I (Sergipe Deep Waters), opening a new production frontier in the Northeast: Total investment for the two modules (SEAP I + SEAP II) exceeds R$ 60 billion, with an estimated production of more than 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
The unit will produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil and up to 6 million cubic meters of gas daily. P-71 has an oil storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels and can accommodate 160 people.
The P-71 is an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) platform and will navigate to the Santos Basin to fulfill the next phase of the project, its anchoring at the field, followed by the interconnection to the unit’s production pipelines (risers).
The P-71 will enter operation in December 2022 and is expected to reach its peak production by the end of 2023. The unit belongs to Petrobras and will be the last in the series of Replicants, also consisting of P-66, P-67, P-68, P-69, and P-70. These units feature high production capacity, advanced operating technologies, and emission reduction, with the same replicated engineering design.
