Seminar at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce
After visiting Rio, Saif Al Mazrouei, Director of Abu Dhabi Ports, participated in the seminar at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo this Wednesday, the 27th, and spoke about business opportunities in the Free Zone and Port of Abu Dhabi.
The presentation gathered around seventy representatives from companies in food, coffee, cosmetics, mining, construction, trading, and foreign trade consulting, among other interested parties.
Mazrouei spoke about his delegation’s visits to Itajaí and Rio de Janeiro, “During visits to Itajaí and Rio de Janeiro, we met some potential companies and are in initial negotiations. We like Brazil and are here because our countries have a strong economic and commercial relationship, and we see many opportunities we can explore, specifically from Abu Dhabi and Brazilian companies to Abu Dhabi. We are interested in the navigation and logistics sectors and in areas that can add value to business. I thank the Arab Chamber for facilitating visits to potential partners from the Emirates,” said the executive.
Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi is one of the most important in the Gulf region and currently has the capacity to handle 2.5 million TEUs, a unit equivalent to a 20-foot container. According to the company’s CEO, the goal is to reach and maybe even exceed 9.1 million TEUs by 2021.
“Abu Dhabi has one of the largest ports in the region and a business potential of billions of dollars. I am proud to see Brazilian companies in Kizad. If you already have an operation in the Emirates or want to set one up, we are here to help,” said Mazrouei.
“We are here following the visit of the president of Brazil to the Emirates in October, we would like to explore more opportunities for attracting and realizing investments. We are seeking various investment opportunities here, we have visited Rio, Itajaí, and São Paulo, and we would like to offer business opportunities for Brazilian companies in Abu Dhabi and the region, and show how they can expand their businesses globally using our Kizad services,” added Marzooqi.
“We are a one-stop shop; you can start small, with an office, and then gradually expand the operation. JBS started this way and now has a large operation in our free zone,” said the director referring to the Brazilian food giant.
