Revenue from Iron Ore Royalties Increased by 35% Compared to 2019, Which Had Already Been a Record
According to data from the National Mining Agency (ANM), in 2020, royalties collected by the country’s iron ore industry reached a record mark of 6 billion reais. The amount presented is 35% higher than in 2019, a year that set a record. The states of Pará and Minas Gerais received 3.1 billion and 2.4 billion reais, respectively.

State of Pará in Mining:
For the second time, the state of Pará was the state most compensated for the value of royalties. According to calculations from Minas Gerais and the Brazilian Association of Mining Cities (Amig), the amount of R$ 3.1 billion represents just over half of the national revenue, an increase of 41.9% compared to the previous year.
