Embraer and Raízen Signed an Agreement This Sunday, 17, Aiming to Develop Sustainable Aviation Fuel, SAF in English
Both companies set goals as part of the established partnership, among them, the proposal to make Embraer the first aircraft manufacturer to consume sustainable aviation fuel, which can be supplied by Raízen, a global reference company in bioenergy.
The use of the fuel to be generated by Raízen is part of Embraer’s strategy to neutralize the carbon footprint of its operations by 2040, as more than 60% of the emissions from the compound in the company’s operations come from the use of aviation kerosene in testing and production flights.
“Aviation fuel plays an essential role in reducing aviation emissions in the short and medium term. In this regard, this agreement aims to stimulate the growth and sustainability of the entire value chain through the production of green aviation fuel”, said Carlos Alberto Griner, Vice President of People, this Sunday, 17.
