In the State of Bahia, investments mainly in the clean energy generation sector can generate several jobs in the state
According to data from the government of the state of Bahia, over the last five years, more than 600 memorandums of intent were signed to attract investments in the state. The SDE – Secretariat for Economic Development, currently monitors the implementation of more than 300 projects with signed protocols of intentions. It is estimated that these investments will generate 36,3 jobs and 28 billion reais will be invested in various parts of Bahia.

If all the intentional protocols are implemented, the expectation is that the conclusion of the project will generate 686 jobs in the state, with a total investment of 54,5 billion reais.
According to João Leão, vice-governor and secretary of Economic Development, he assessed the efforts to develop new businesses in Bahia. He emphasized that the power generation sector with clean energy is a new wave of resources in the state, and with that created job opportunities.

“This for Bahia is of great importance, very great indeed. We have already installed 120 new wind power centers and now we are going to install another 123 centers. Today, the light that illuminates me, 48,2% is wind energy. Solar energy is coming in at full speed and we are going to install 123 more parks. There are R$ 53 billion that we are investing. In addition, we have biogas energy. We are setting up 11 sugar and alcohol plants in the San Francisco region,” he added.
