Project Aims to Reduce Turnover in the Industrial Sector at Vale and the Port of Nacala, Aiming to Lower Unemployment Rate and Strengthen the Economy of the African Country.
The Brazilian company Icro Group has just launched the Avança Moçambique program, aimed at strengthening industries in the African country. The company – which operates there at Vale and at the Port of Nacala – believes that Mozambicans have great potential in the industrial maintenance sector and is therefore developing the project within the companies of that country, enhancing and advancing the professional career of Mozambican workers.
The Avança Moçambique program involves competency management and the proposal for ongoing education, from the diagnosis of companies, with a sample of the sector where there is a higher incidence of worker turnover, to the demands that require technical training for professionals, so they can maintain factory operations. From this, the project develops a career plan structure for the organizations in Mozambique that join the project.
Upon identifying the need for training or technical improvement, Icro Group presents a proposal for a custom curriculum to meet the specific needs of the client. This way, trained professionals can contribute more effectively to achieving results for the growth of companies in Mozambique.

“We have already verified that professional turnover is high in the country. Therefore, Avança Moçambique, in addition to focusing on the professional qualification of workers, will also support companies in implementing career development. It is not an isolated training course, but rather a comprehensive professional development program, focused on reducing the unemployment rate in the country“. Brazilian Program Presented to the Embassy of Mozambique
Diplomats from the Brazilian Embassy in Mozambique participated in the launch of Avança Moçambique. At the event, contacts of major Mozambican businessmen were made available. The head of the economic sector and commercial promotion of the Brazilian Embassy in Maputo (the capital of Mozambique), Davi Bonavides, showed strong support for the idea.
“In relation to the economy, with the training proposed by the program, we will have a qualified workforce, which is essential for companies to maintain their activities. In addition, it greatly benefits the worker, opening a new professional perspective for him. The expectation is that the program will consolidate and become a reference in training and contribute even more to the development of the country and the relations between Brazil and Mozambique.”
