In Addition To The State Of Minas Gerais, The Company Still Has Projects To Install Solar Power Plants In Paraná, São Paulo, And Mato Grosso
AXS Energia, the distributed generation arm of Araxá Solar, which has been operating since 2011 in the development of the Brazilian solar sector, expects to invest up to R$ 1 billion in Minas Gerais over the next three years. A total of 60 plants will be implemented. By the end of the year, there will be five plants in operation. The first, in São Gonçalo do Sapucaí, in Southern Minas, is already under construction. In August, work will begin on two more in the municipalities of Passos and Prata. See also this news: BMW Develops Charging System For Electric Cars Powered By Solar Energy

Choice Of Minas Gerais To Install Solar Power Plants
According to the company, Minas Gerais was chosen to begin operations due to several favorable factors, including climatic conditions and high solar generation potential, the ability to offer competitive proposals to consumers, appropriate legislation, and a receptive market. The forecast is to generate 150 jobs by the end of 2021 and over a thousand the following year.
The Operations Director of AXS Energia, Alysson Barros Paolinelli, added that the region has an excellent solar radiation index and mild temperatures, which contribute to the performance of electromechanical equipment and generation of photovoltaic modules. The quality of the grid infrastructure also contributed to the decision. “Our goal is for each region that receives an AXS power plant to have a kind of ‘green seal’. To be a reference in generating its own energy in a clean and conscious manner,” he explained.

The Market The Company Will Serve
AXS Energia will serve the state of Minas Gerais, in a first phase, small and medium-sized businesses with consumption between 400 and 22,000 KWh per month. Thus, the initial service will be dedicated to low-voltage commercial clients (small businesses with energy bills above R$ 400 per month), but this year, it will also be offered to residences. The quota for the first plant under construction is already practically negotiated.
“The solar power plants are a first step for the group in Minas Gerais. We are attentive to different investment possibilities and will soon present new alternatives to the Minas market in the areas of storage, mobility, and especially partnerships for electric vehicles,” assured Alysson Barros.

At the end of 2020, the government of Minas Gerais and EMGD (Minas Gerais Distributed Generation Company) reached an agreement, in which 5 new solar power plants will be inaugurated in the state in November. The intention protocol also provides for the encouragement of development, job creation, and the reduction of social inequality in the northern region of the state of Minas Gerais.
Following the investment plan exceeding R$ 400 million, EMGD expects to contract for the construction of three more plants in Taiobeiras and one in Minas Novas, in Minas Gerais, to be completed by mid-2022. According to André Mendonça, the operations director of EMGD, the simultaneous execution of the projects will generate nearly two hundred job positions in the region, in addition to boosting the local economy through indirect services in sectors such as hospitality and food, for example.
With approximately R$ 65 million available and an in-house engineering team, EMGD will apply the best and latest technology, aiming for quality and performance of the new assets in Minas Gerais. The solar power plants will feature a ray tracking system, the tracker, bifacial modules, and equipment from renowned suppliers.
