Banco do Brasil’s Young Apprentice Program Opens Opportunities for Low-Income Adolescents, with Minimum Wage, Guaranteed Labor Benefits and Reduced Hours, Following the Learning Law and with Registration Made by Accredited Partner Entities.

Banco do Brasil keeps open, in different regions of the country, opportunities in the BB Apprentice Program, an initiative aimed at adolescents and young people seeking their first formal work bond.

The program provides a monthly salary equivalent to one national minimum wage, currently set at R$ 1,518.00, in addition to benefits such as food assistance, transportation vouchers, and reduced hours, combining practical activities and theoretical training.

The model follows the guidelines of the Learning Law (Law No. 10,097/2000), which regulates the hiring of apprentices in Brazil.

The proposal is to allow young people to gain initial professional experience without compromising school attendance, with guaranteed labor rights and pedagogical support throughout the contract.

According to institutional information from the bank, more than 50 thousand adolescents have participated in the program since its inception.

How the BB Apprentice Program Works

The BB Apprentice Program is structured to serve students who are still in basic or secondary education and belong to low-income families.

The apprentice’s roles involve supporting administrative functions, with activities suitable for their age and the type of contract established.

Alongside practical experience in the bank’s branches, participants attend theoretical courses offered by partner entities.

These contents cover topics related to citizenship, ethics, work organization, and administrative concepts, in accordance with the provisions set forth in the learning legislation.

Salary, Benefits and Rights Guaranteed by Law

The apprenticeship contract provides for a monthly payment equivalent to one national minimum wage, currently established at R$ 1,518.00.

Additionally, the program includes food assistance of R$ 200.00, transportation vouchers, and access to health plans, as stated in the public presentation of the BB Apprentice Program.

As it is a formal bond, the apprentice is also entitled to 13th salary, paid vacation, and legal contributions such as FGTS and INSS, at the percentages defined for apprenticeship contracts.

Vacations are organized to coincide, whenever possible, with the school recess period.

Who Can Participate in the Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice Program

The program is aimed at adolescents aged between 14 and 18 years old.

One of the main criteria is the socioeconomic situation.

The family income per capita must be up to half of the national minimum wage, according to the rules disclosed by the bank and partner entities.

Regarding education, candidates must be enrolled in the regular education system, be it public or private as a scholarship holder.

It is required that the student is at least in the equivalent of the 7th or 8th grade of Elementary School, or has already entered High School.

Throughout the contract period, continued participation in the program is conditioned on satisfactory attendance and academic performance.

Work Schedule and Compatibility with Studies

The apprentice’s working hours are four hours daily, scheduled in shifts that should not coincide with class hours.

This limit is defined by legislation and aims to preserve time dedicated to academic education.

The practical activities include supporting administrative routines, organizing documents, and providing directed assistance to internal audiences, always under supervision.

No tasks are assigned to the apprentice that involve complex financial operations or responsibilities incompatible with the role.

Theoretical Training and the Role of Partner Entities

The theoretical part of the program is conducted by Non-Profit Entities (ESFL) accredited by Banco do Brasil.

These institutions are responsible for offering the courses, providing pedagogical support, and guiding young people throughout the apprenticeship contract.

This model meets the requirements of the Learning Law, which provides for the joint action between the hiring company and the training entity.

It is the responsibility of the ESFL to organize the class schedule, control attendance, and inform the bank of any situations that may compromise the apprentice’s continuity in the program.

How the Selection Process Works

The recruitment of apprentices is not done directly at Banco do Brasil branches.

The entire selection process takes place through partner Non-Profit Entities, which screen candidates, verify requirements, and conduct the selection stages.

For this reason, interested young people should not seek the bank branches to apply.

The correct approach involves identifying whether the municipality participates in the program and, from there, locating the accredited entity responsible for selection in that region.

How to Apply for the Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice Program

To apply for a position, candidates must first check if their municipality is among the participants of the BB Apprentice Program and identify which Non-Profit Entities accredited operate in their location.

Next, it is necessary to contact the responsible entity directly to confirm the opening of selection processes, learn about the schedule, gather the required documentation, and formalize the application according to the provided guidelines.
