The Sunreef 80 Power Eco Batteries Are 30% Lighter Than Standard Batteries And Combined With Solar Energy, The Vehicle Has An Almost Unlimited Range

The market for more advanced and environmentally friendly boats is on the rise. Several different manufacturers have already showcased incredible fully electric vessels. The Sunreef 80 Power Eco, a solar-powered electric boat, is the star of this segment.

The electric vehicle stands out not only for its size and fascinating appearance but also for its system, which combines electric motors with solar energy. This aspect of the boat has already sparked the curiosity and desire of several wealthy individuals.

The Polish company Sunreef, well-known in the market for catamarans, was responsible for the invention. The model is the longest that the company has ever produced, measuring at least 23.8 meters in length, and is covered by solar panels that span a total area of 200 square meters.

Its batteries provide power to two 180 kW motors, and its solar panels can produce up to 40 kWp (kilowatt peak). However, the buyer has the option to add a hybrid system to their purchase.

The company claims that the 80 Power Eco comes with batteries that are 30% lighter than standard ones. When paired with solar energy, they allow the device to provide an almost unlimited range.

The new boat, in addition to being made with sustainably sourced components, has zero emissions. Onboard, eco-friendly features include a water production and purification system to provide drinking water, as well as a DC-powered air conditioning system.

The Solar-Powered Electric Boat Has An Astronomical Price That Can Easily Exceed The Equivalent Of R$ 48 Million

At the end of 2021, a customer from the United States had already purchased the prototype. Another unit that was sold recently will be delivered in 2025.

The Sunreef 80 Power Eco has a starting price of around US$ 9.5 million, which is equivalent to R$ 48.7 million at the current exchange rate. However, the final price of the solar-powered electric boat could eventually exceed this amount, depending on the specifications that the owner makes before the purchase.

The electric 80 Power Eco boat is a vehicle that uses solar energy to power its electric motors for almost all of the time. It is an environmentally friendly option as it emits no pollutants and does not contribute to global warming.

Additionally, boats like this can be used in areas where the use of fossil fuels is prohibited or limited, such as national parks and marine reserves.

The importance of these vehicles is that they offer a clean and sustainable alternative for water transportation. They can also be used for educational and research purposes, helping to raise environmental awareness and preserve marine ecosystems.
