The new bifacial solar panels will also serve as decoration for the place where they are installed, in addition to reinforcing the commitment and responsibility with the environment.

With the value of the energy bill rising every month, having solutions to save resources, such as water and electricity, are in fact always welcome to consumers. When it comes to solutions for the energy matrix, the photovoltaic solar panels bifacials has been bringing several attributes, such as differentiated aesthetics, compared to conventional panels, making them also a decorative solution, in addition to being sustainable.

Bifacial solar panels become a solution in the solar energy market, in addition to serving as decoration

Conventional photovoltaic panels are completely white on the underside. Bifacial solar panels, on the other hand, are inverted, as their modules and filaments are on display.

According to designer Vinicius Latoch, this makes the painéis solares, in addition to being functional, they also give the place a decorative air, demonstrating the person's concern and attention towards the environment.

Latoch is a product designer at Mapogos Design, an agency specializing in corporate, commercial and residential environments and projects. The agency represents Jinko, manufacturer of bifacial solar panels, in the South region.

As a way to demonstrate and launch the bifacial solar panels, the agency – which is also made up of designers Kelvin Mello and Fernanda Niclevicz – closed with the Off Office Garage Audi, from Casa Cor PR 2022, an architecture exhibition that is on display until the second Sunday of August, on the 14th.

The totally multinational space has about 80 m² and the designers' idea was to recreate a garage, where, in addition to housing the vehicle, it also offers a home office space and a pool table, as a way of transforming the garage into an environment of rest and relaxation, in addition to focusing on an environmentally responsible place, implanting the bifacial solar panels composing the roof over the vehicle's roof.

According to Latoch, bifacial photovoltaic panels are able to capture the incidence of internal and external light, in addition to being 30% more efficient than conventional panels. In the garage, 10 bifacial solar panels measuring 2,10 mx 1,60 m, with 535W of power, were installed in an area of approximately 40 m².

The energy production generated through the bifacial photovoltaic panels, according to the designers, will be enough to meet the cost of a family home of up to 300 m².

Installation of bifacial solar panels

The installation of bifacial photovoltaic panels is carried out in a similar way to the installation of conventional plates, with the parts of the panels being fixed on metalon structures or on the roof, following a pattern of inclination of the product.

All the sizing of the panels is done according to the consumption needs of the property and only after calculating this, the values for the installation are established.

The installation budget ranges from R$ 28 to R$ 30 thousand, or more. Latoch reported that bifacial solar panels can be installed on floors, agro, soil and even on top of zinc roofs.
