With The New Concept, BMW Targets Young People Who Have Never Owned A Motorcycle, As The Vehicle Can Be Used By People Without A License
The multinational luxury car and motorcycle manufacturer, BMW Motorrad, reveals its latest prototype. The futuristic Concept CE 02 is a hybrid motorcycle aimed at young people without a driver’s license looking for the next step in urban mobility.

The motorcycle division of the manufacturer tried to create something new like the Concept CE 02, so you would be forgiven for not knowing if it is a motorcycle or a scooter. The multinational BMW attempted to take the essential features from both genres and transform them into a new, fast way to move around the city with zero emissions.

Thinking of helping you get to your destination quickly, BMW designed a belt-driven electric motor that can generate 11 kW of power (or about 15 horsepower), according to a press release.

Electric Motorcycle Has A Skateboard Holder
The hybrid configuration of the Concept CE 02 is not the only aspect aimed at attracting younger riders. The vehicle was specifically designed with them in mind. It even has a holder designed to carry skateboards.
With the new concept, BMW targets 16-year-olds who have never owned a motorcycle, as the vehicle can be used by people without a license in some areas.
The motorcycle also features a minimalist cyberpunk design, similar to that of the Definition Concept CE 04 scooter. There are two large disc wheels, a front fork, handlebars, and a motor – that’s it. Because of this, the vehicle tips the scale at a lightweight 119 kgs.
Traditionally, a motorcycle like the Concept CE 02 seems to have little chance of hitting the roads, but we are no longer so sure about that. After all, just two months ago, BMW revealed a production version of the Destination CE 04. So, if you are looking for a middle ground between a motorcycle and a scooter, patience may be your best ally.
