Teleconsultation Is An Important Ally In The Fight Against The Pandemic, As Virtual Screening Allows For Healthy Patients Or Those With Mild Symptoms To Avoid Going To A Hospital, Preventing The Spread Of COVID-19.
BR DISTRIBUIDORA – The life of truck drivers literally takes place on the roads of Brazil, and the gas stations become their home away from home. Considering them during this moment of the coronavirus pandemic, BR Distribuidora, within its principles of awareness, responsibility, and solidarity, will distribute more than 60,000 meals and bottles of hand sanitizer through its Siga Bem gas station network. Moreover, it will pioneeringly offer, for free, in partnership with Dasa, a leader in diagnostic medicine, Rede Ímpar de Hospitais, and GSC Integradora de Saúde, online medical consultations for more than 16,000 registered truck drivers. The objective is to preserve the health and well-being of these partners in society who often do not have time for self-care.

BR has acquired more than 13,000 teleconsultations; however, for every 10,000 acquisitions by a partner, Dasa, Rede Ímpar de Hospitais, and GSC Integradora de Saúde promote an incentive by donating another 2,500. The consultations have already started, giving drivers the opportunity to receive specialized medical advice remotely in case of need or discomfort, including symptoms related to Covid-19, without having to go to a health unit, which eases the pressure on the public health system.
According to BR’s CEO, Rafael Grisolia, the truck driver audience is extremely important to the organization. “These professionals are fundamental to society and to the supply chain of fuels and other products that drive the national economy. They deserve all our recognition and support,” says Grisolia.

“With the emergence of Covid-19, we made teleconsultation available for health operators, companies, NGOs, and other partners. Our team of doctors conducts consultations via video, facilitating patient access and avoiding unnecessary trips to hospitals and emergency services,” says Ana Elisa Siqueira, CEO of GSC.
Online Medical Consultations
Teleconsultation is an important ally in combating the pandemic, as virtual triage makes it possible to avoid that a healthy patient or one with mild symptoms goes to a hospital, preventing the spread of COVID-19.
For those who already have the Petrobras Truck Driver Card, just access the website https://www.cartaodocaminhoneiro.com.br in case of need, and it will be possible to have a consultation using the registered CPF. For those who have not yet joined the program and are interested in this benefit, the way is to register, and your CPF will be entered into the tool.
In addition to online health guidance, BR is also bringing another initiative aimed at truck drivers. The company will provide diesel fuel for those who refuel using the Card (cashback of 10% on the amount refueled) as support so that they can drive more and save money. The benefit will be offered during the action period (30 days), limited to 200 liters per user.
Donations of Meals and Hand Sanitizer
According to BR’s CEO, hand sanitizer is being distributed to truck drivers of its tankers at all its operational bases. “These truck drivers will play a very important role, as they will also take hand sanitizer to BR gas stations, benefiting the local teams of service attendants,” says Grisolia, announcing that from April 18, the company will also distribute hand sanitizer to truck drivers in its Siga Bem network, which contains 103 stations across Brazil, corresponding to 30% of the diesel volume sold throughout the BR Network.
Grisolia further highlights that the proposal is to make bottles of hand sanitizer available for 25 truck drivers per day at each station, over a period of 15 days, benefiting more than eight thousand truck drivers. He recalls that the Siga Bem network is also encouraging the distribution of meals for road professionals, and several stations have already embraced the idea. In addition to the meal, the truck driver receives a personal hygiene kit and can take a shower or stay overnight for free. “Just in this first phase, more than 60,000 meals will be provided,” he confirms.

So far, just over 30,000 liters have been donated and the Company’s capacity is up to 200,000 liters allocated for donation.

Nearly 10,000 people will benefit, including those who were recruited in the locality to work on registering families and distributing the benefit.
