Brazilian Startup AutoAgroMachines Launches Forest.Bot, A Reforestation Robot Recognized in Cambridge, With Innovative Technology.

A new Brazilian technology is drawing attention on the international stage. AutoAgroMachines, a startup from Brazil, has developed a robot called Forest.Bot, designed for reforestation. With the ability to plant 1,800 trees per hour, the machine stands out in the field of technology applied to forestry. Recently, the project was recognized by the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and promises to transform planting practices in Brazil and other countries.

Innovations in Automated Planting

The Forest.Bot is a robot that uses artificial intelligence to perform the automated planting of seedlings in large areas of land.

It was developed in partnership with Incomagri, a manufacturer of agricultural machinery located in Itapira, São Paulo.

The founder of AutoAgroMachines, Marcello Guimarães, explains that the robot features a sliding planting system that allows for more precise insertion of seedlings into the soil, minimizing common errors found in other machines.

This advancement in technology ensures that the roots are planted correctly without being exposed to air.

Precision is critical in reforestation work as it contributes to the success of seedlings and the recovery of degraded areas.

The real-time monitoring system of the Forest.Bot generates geo-referenced maps that can be used to optimize forest management, including irrigation and pest control.

A Look at Sustainability

Brazil faces a significant challenge with deforestation, being one of the largest CO₂ emitters in the world. The use of technology, such as Forest.Bot, can provide effective solutions for forest recovery.

Guimarães asserts that it is necessary to act quickly to restore devastated areas, and the robot can be a crucial tool for organizations working towards sustainability.

In addition to its environmental impact, the robot is also attracting interest from the private sector.

Companies like Eldorado and Suzano, along with organizations from various countries, are paying attention to the potential of Forest.Bot.

International Recognition of the Robot

The robot gained prominence in the Smart Forests research project led by the University of Cambridge, which investigates the use of digital technologies in forest management.

This project, supported by the European Union, seeks alternatives to address climate change through innovation. Guimarães believes the research confirms the importance of merging technology and environmental conservation.

The Forest.Bot is already available on the market with an initial cost of R$ 2.98 million. AutoAgroMachines has ambitious plans for the future, expecting to sell 6,500 units in the next ten years.

The idea is to develop even more advanced versions of the robot that can plant over 3,600 seedlings per hour.

…o caminho é este…mas plantar árvores nativas, variadas e recuperar florestas…

A máquina tomando o lugar do homem.
