The unit in Capinzal, 442 km from the capital of Santa Catarina, will direct BRF’s resources towards the acquisition of equipment to increase production volume in a breaded products line, generating 52 new job vacancies.

Meanwhile, the unit located in Concórdia is expected to create 107 job opportunities with the expansion of the Ingredients line and the increase in the production of sliced and cured products. The Videira plant, the birthplace of BRF in Santa Catarina with the launch of one of its main brands, Perdigão, in the 1930s, will gain a new cooked sausage factory, creating 250 direct jobs.

Positive Impacts of BRF in Santa Catarina

The Governor of Santa Catarina, Carlos Moisés, states that BRF has a significant impact on the state’s economy and on income generation in the municipalities. According to him, they are partners in the productive sector and will work together to maintain the status of the safest state, with higher quality of life and notable job creation. These investments will benefit all of society in Santa Catarina, the governor concludes.

CEO Lorival Luz states that they generate around 21,200 direct jobs and work with more than 4,700 integrated producers. The CEO of BRF expresses their aim to advance the growth agenda towards Vision 2030 while adhering to the purpose of bringing a better life to all with integrity, safety, and quality.

Water Supply

During the meeting, BRF executives expressed their concern about water supply, a fundamental raw material for the food industries. At that time, the Governor of Santa Catarina presented the state government’s investments to reduce the impacts of drought and increase water availability in the Western region.

Carlos Moisés states that, in partnership with the Legislative Assembly, they approved R$ 300 million, which will be invested over three years to establish a permanent water reserve and spring conservation program. The governor mentioned that the funds will be used for water capture, storage, and usage, as well as for the preservation of springs and sources.

Representatives from BRF and the government of the state of Santa Catarina will unite in a working group, coordinated by Secretary Altair Silva, to seek solutions and new projects to enhance water availability in Santa Catarina.
