Port of Cabedelo wants to expand and move more than 70 containers per month

In February of that year, there was a considerable increase of 11,41% in the movement of cargo at the port of Cabedelo, compared to the same period in 2019, including the registration of imports and exports, with emphasis on wheat, ilmenite and oil, everything indicates that the year 2021 could contribute to the target of 70 containers per month.

If we consider the first two months of the year, the Port of Cabedelo recorded an increase of 10,57% compared to the first two months of 2019.

“In January we already had a 10% increase in container handling, which is an exceptional result. When we ended February, the management report already showed an increase of 11%, which is yet another reason to celebrate, the work that the entire team is doing in the port of Cabedelo”, celebrates Gilmara Timóteo, Director-President of Docas-PB.

27 thousand tons of petcoke from Paraíba to Rio de Janeiro

In February, there was a considerable increase in movement at the Port of Cabedelo, where the ship Sepetiba Bay docked on February 11, with the purpose of shipping more than 27 thousand tons of petcoke from Paraíba to Rio de Janeiro.

On November 20, 2020, the Chief Executive Officer of the Port of Cabedelo/PB, Gilmara Timóteo, called a meeting to discuss issues related to favoring increased movement in the port of Cabedelo. She received representatives from Sky Solar, a distributor of photovoltaic products and generators in Paraná.

70 containers per month in the port of Cabedelo

Sky Solar intends to set up a branch in João Pessoa, and intends to make use of the Cabedelo port to move 70 containers per month, with inverters and solar energy panels.

As of 2021, Level, which is another company of the same group, has declared an interest in installing a Tire Distribution Center in João Pessoa, which will move more than 70 containers per month through the port of Cabedelo.
