Model E7 Has Range of Up to 520 Km and Is Designed for Professional Use in Urban Transport

The Chinese automaker BYD has just presented the BYD e7, a 100% electric sedan aimed exclusively at taxi drivers and app drivers. With an initial price equivalent to R$ 73,500, the model is cheaper than the Fiat Mobi sold in Brazil and offers a range of up to 520 km. The launch was highlighted on the autoesporte.globo.com portal, which provided all the details about the vehicle focused on urban mobility with efficiency and low cost.

Powertrain and Urban Performance with a Range of Up to 520 Km

Equipped with a 134 hp electric motor, the BYD e7 comes with two battery options of lithium iron phosphate (LFP): one with 48 kWh and another with 57 kWh. The configurations offer estimated ranges of 450 km and 520 km, respectively, values more than sufficient for intense routines in urban transport. The vehicle’s top speed is 150 km/h, ideal for daily needs in Chinese cities.

According to the publication from autoesporte.globo.com, this model is part of BYD’s strategy to offer accessible and sustainable solutions for fleet operators, with a total focus on professional drivers.

Functional Design and Generous Dimensions

Measuring 4.78 meters in length, the BYD e7 is longer than the Toyota Corolla, which measures 4.63 meters, and offers excellent interior space. Its dimensions include a width of 1.90 m, a height of 1.51 m, and a wheelbase of 2.82 m, measurements close to those of the BYD Seal, but with a more discreet and functional look.

The sedan comes with 16-inch wheels and conventional door handles to reduce production costs, but offers an unexpected feature for the segment: a panoramic sunroof. This combination reinforces the practical appeal of the model, without sacrificing comfort.

Exclusive for Fleets and Supported by the Chinese Government

An important point highlighted by autoesporte.globo.com is that the BYD e7 will be sold only to taxi drivers and app drivers, and will not be available to the general public, not even in China. It is part of BYD’s e-Series line, aimed at more affordable vehicles focused on urban fleet operators.

The competitive price of the car is possible thanks to subsidies offered by the Chinese government as part of its electric mobility incentive program. This public policy has contributed significantly to the growth of electric car sales and the strengthening of the national clean vehicle industry.

Still No Forecast for Arrival in Brazil

Despite the strong appeal of the model and the growing interest in electric vehicles in Brazil, the BYD e7 still has no forecast for launch outside the Chinese market. However, the brand already operates in the country with models such as the Dolphin, Yuan Plus, and Seal, all aimed at the general public.

Experts believe that with the expansion of electric mobility and the growth of charging infrastructure in Brazil, models like the e7 may be considered for local fleets in the future, especially in the app transport sector.
