Update on the Hybrid Set, Larger Battery and Debut of a New Seven-Seater SUV Mark the New Phase of BYD in Brazil, with Changes that Reposition the Brand’s Line in an Increasingly Competitive Segment.
The BYD Song Plus 2027 has been launched in Brazil with changes to the hybrid set and a maintained price of R$ 249,990.
The main change is the adoption of a 1.5 turbo engine instead of the aspirated one from the previous version, along with an increase in the battery to 26.6 kWh.
As a result, the declared range in electric mode increased from 63 km to 99 km according to Inmetro standards, while the combined range reported by the manufacturer reaches 1,150 km in the European NEDC cycle.

Even so, the differences between the versions remain.
The Song Plus Premium retains all-wheel drive and a second electric motor, while the entry-level configuration continues with front-wheel drive.

Larger Battery Expands the Range of BYD Song Plus 2027
The gain in range comes with a new battery pack.
After replacing the 8.3 kWh pack with another 18.3 kWh in the 2025 line, the SUV now uses a 26.6 kWh battery.
According to the data released at the launch, this represents a 57% increase in range without fuel usage, going from 63 km to 99 km in the Brazilian cycle.
In addition to the greater range in electric mode, the Song Plus 2027 now accepts fast charging in direct current.
According to the brand, charging from 30% to 80% can be done in 55 minutes.
The model also retains AC charging.
The consumption of the 2027 line, however, had not been disclosed by the manufacturer until the vehicle’s presentation.
The update comes after the Song Plus ranked among the best-selling hybrids in the country in 2025.
BYD has also announced plans to launch the flex version of the model in the second half of 2026.
Dimensions and Equipment of BYD’s Hybrid SUV
The dimensions of the SUV have not changed.
The Song Plus continues with a length of 4.77 meters, width of 1.89 m, height of 1.67 m, and a wheelbase of 2.76 m.

The trunk remains at 552 liters.
In the list of standard items, the utility brings six airbags, keyless entry, push-button start, leather-trimmed seats with electric adjustment for the driver, rain sensor, LED headlights with automatic activation, panoramic sunroof, 15.6-inch multimedia center, and a 360-degree camera system.
Also included are driving assistance features such as automatic emergency braking and two-zone digital air conditioning.
BYD Atto 8 Arrives in Brazil with Seven Seats
BYD also introduced the Atto 8 to the Brazilian market.
The plug-in hybrid seven-seater SUV was launched for R$ 399,990 and expands the brand’s presence in the larger utility segment.
The model had already been shown to the public during the São Paulo Auto Show and now officially arrives in stores.

In the mechanical set, the Atto 8 uses a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine and two electric motors, with a combined power of 488 hp and all-wheel drive.
According to the manufacturer, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
The battery is 35.6 kWh, and the combined range disclosed is 900 km in the NEDC cycle.
The range in electric mode varies according to the measurement criteria adopted.
In promotional materials and initial information about the model, the number of 152 km was mentioned, while measurement by Brazilian standards indicates 111 km according to Inmetro.
Since the cycles are different, the results are not equivalent.
Charging was also one of the highlighted points by the company.
According to BYD, the Atto 8 can charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes in direct current.
The SUV also features the V2L function, which allows powering external devices, and offers six driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Sand, and Mud.
Interior Space, Technology, and Safety in the Atto 8
In terms of dimensions, the Atto 8 measures 5.04 meters in length, 1.99 m in width, 1.76 m in height, and 2.95 m in wheelbase.
The trunk has 270 liters with the seven seats in use and can reach 1,960 liters with the seats folded.
The wheels are 21 inches.
Inside, the model features a 15.6-inch multimedia center, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a panoramic sunroof, and an extensive package of comfort features.
Among the items reported by the manufacturer are Dynaudio audio system, front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, as well as a small refrigerator in the center console.
In terms of safety, the SUV has nine airbags and a level 2 ADAS package.
The Atto 8 platform also allows for the adoption of advanced driving assistance features.
According to BYD, the model combines cameras, radars, and functions such as automatic parking and collision avoidance systems.
With the update of the Song Plus and the arrival of the Atto 8, the brand expands the offer of plug-in hybrids in Brazil.
