BYD is preparing to launch a new Plug-In Hybrid SUV for the Brazilian market, called Song Pro. The new BYD car is already being sold in China at a more affordable price than the Song Plus and will be available in Brazil. New Hybrid Car From BYD Is Expected To Arrive In Brazil In The Region Of R$ 200 Thousand
The BYD Song Pro is the favorite to begin production at the Camaçari plant, in Bahia. Its localization should include the adaptation of the hybrid system to flex, meaning it can be fueled with gasoline or ethanol.
In China, the new BYD car starts at 135,800 yuan, which converts to around R$ 93 thousand without considering taxes. Regardless, when the model arrives in the national market, it should cost less than the Song Plus, priced at R$ 269,990. Thus, the expectation is that the plug-in hybrid model will be in the range of R$ 200 thousand.

Jaecoo 7 with super hybrid SHS system exceeds 1,200 km of combined range with a 1.5 turbo engine, high-density battery, and intelligent energy management.
In terms of mechanics, the Song Pro features a plug-in hybrid setup similar to its sibling Song Plus. It has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers up to 110 horsepower, working alongside an electric motor.
Together, the powertrains deliver a maximum output of 197 horsepower. Thus, it is less powerful than the Song Plus, which in its version sold nationally, can reach up to 235 horsepower.
BYD Song Pro Delivers Up To 110 Km Of Range
In the Chinese market, the model comes with two battery options. The first is 12.9 kWh, which, according to the Chinese cycle, can reach 71 km of range.
The second has 18.3 kWh and provides a range of 110 km. Regardless, according to information from Inside EVs, the BYD Song Pro is expected to arrive in Brazil in its entry-level version with a smaller battery. Its debut is likely to happen only in mid-2024.
In terms of design, the Song Pro is quite similar to the Song Plus. There are few details that differentiate the SUVs. This is the case, for example, with the headlights. In the Pro SUV, they are sharper. Additionally, it features a grille with a new design pattern, more creases on the hood, and large air intakes.
At the rear, the visual is practically the same. However, based on the drawings, it can be deduced that the Song Pro will have more robust bumpers and a wider rear window.
Interior Of The New BYD Car Features Several Technologies
Regarding its size, the BYD Song Pro measures 4.73 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, 1.71 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.72 meters. Thus, it is slightly larger than its sibling Song Plus.
Finally, its wheels are 19 inches. However, it is on the inside that the Song Pro features the most significant changes. Its dashboard, for instance, is a bit more modern, featuring two floating screens. One of them is the digital cluster located right behind the three-spoke steering wheel.
There is also a rotating multimedia center with 15 inches, a trademark of BYD vehicles. In China, the vehicle comes with technologies such as a panoramic sunroof, electric adjustment for the driver’s seat, dual-zone air conditioning, and more.
