Canada wants to overcome the population deficit problem and intends to admit more than 1,2 million permanent residents in 2023. “And Brazilians are very well regarded by Québec companies due to their competence and ease of cultural adaptation”, he comments. According to Ed Santos, an immigration specialist and partner at Canada Intercâmbio, the market still suffers from a lack of qualified professionals.
And the country needs immigrants to fill the open positions. As well as having one of the lowest birth rates in the world, its population is also one of the oldest in the world, with 18% being aged 65 or over.
