Canada wants to overcome the population deficit problem and intends to admit more than 1,2 million permanent residents in 2023. “And Brazilians are very well regarded by Québec companies due to their competence and ease of cultural adaptation”, he comments. Elisa Rinco, director of international mobility at Québec International.

Depending on the numbers and opportunities available, Canada can already prepare itself for high demand. In the last six years before the pandemic, the volume of Definitive Exit Statements registered by the Federal Revenue grew by 125%. The consulting firm Hayman-Woodward accounts for an average of 2,3 cases of expatriation per year.

In six months, some segments had a more significant increase in the number of vacancies. Between them:

  • Civil construction – 110 thousand jobs
  • Logistics and supply – 122 thousand jobs
  • Health and social assistance – 62 thousand vacancies

According to Ed Santos, an immigration specialist and partner at Canada Intercâmbio, the market still suffers from a lack of qualified professionals.

And the country needs immigrants to fill the open positions. As well as having one of the lowest birth rates in the world, its population is also one of the oldest in the world, with 18% being aged 65 or over.

Ed Santos is also the organizer of Expo Canada 2023, a free fair for those who want to learn more about opportunities to study and work in the country.

The event will take place in São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Campo Grande between March 09th and 14th. check out the full schedule and more information on the website. ATTENTION! For vacancies that exist in Canada, one must meet visa eligibility criteria, etc. Expo Canada 2023 DOES NOT WORK services that are connected to this question.
