The Chinese Flying Car Was Presented As A New Technology That Promises To Revolutionize The Market. Learn How The Car Produced By Xpeng AeroHT Works.
Xpeng AeroHT officially launched its modular flying car at the end of last year. This flying car from China consists of a ground transport vehicle, a kind of Cybertruck with an aircraft carrier, and an airplane. The pre-sale of the model with new technology started at the end of 2024 with a price under 2 million yuan, the equivalent to R$ 1.5 million. Deliveries of the model are expected in 2026.
A Little Bit Of The History Of The Company Responsible For The Flying Car
The division was founded in 2013 with financial support from Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng, aiming to develop a real flying car from China. However, its vehicles looked like everything but a car. In 2021, the company announced its new technology: a 6th generation flying car. Xpeng planned to make it a flying car for the streets with deployable rotors on the roof.
However, it is very difficult to lock the rotors properly to prevent damage caused by vibrations when the car is driving on the road. Thus, the company started its project for a flying car from China with the Land Aircraft Carrier, something announced for the first time in October 2023. Now, this car with new technology made its live debut in China.

As previously mentioned, the car from China is separated by two main elements. The first is the aircraft carrier, which measures 5.5 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 2 meters in height. It maintains a minimalist style with a block body shape and smooth A-pillars that blend into the roof line. The aircraft carrier features flush door handles and plastic finishing on the lower part of the body.
The Chinese Flying Car Can Support Up To 6 Flights
According to the company, this aircraft carrier is an electric one with extended range based on a high voltage 800V platform. It has an internal combustion engine under the hood, which does not transfer any torque to the wheels.

Instead, it supplies power to the electric motors and a battery. Being a new technology, the combined range of this aircraft carrier reaches 1,000 km (CLTC). Thanks to the 800 V system, it can charge the aircraft from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes.
Speaking of the Chinese flying car, it resembles a drone and can automatically land and dock at the base. To fit in the “trunk,” it folds its rotors. With a full charge, the new technology can support between 5 and 6 flights. The car from China supports two modes of manual and automatic driving.
When Will The Chinese Flying Car Be Available?
The car from China made its first public flight at the Zhuhai Air Show in November 2024. Its pre-sale began at the end of last year with a price below 2 million yuan (R$ 1.5 million).
However, mass production and deliveries of the “Cybertruck” modular from Xpeng started in 2026, as the brand does not even have an assembly line. Its construction was scheduled for September 2024, with experimental production in July 2025. The planned annual capacity is over 10,000 units.
It is worth noting that flying cars do not have an appropriate set of laws in any country. However, it is still hard to imagine that Xpeng AeroHT will find 10,000 customers ready to buy this vehicle and satisfy the production volume of the company’s future factory. It is a niche product. Thus, the future of the ground aircraft carrier is unclear, but it is expected to surprise us by turning into a successful project.
