Models Like HB20S, Cronos, and Honda Fit Offer Economy, Durability, and Comfort to Face Urban Routine with Peace of Mind

Those looking for cars for everyday use need reliable, economical models that won’t cause headaches in maintenance. Used options with a good mechanical history and affordable parts are often the best choices for those driving a lot in the city.

The good news is that there are several vehicles on the market that fulfill this role effectively. We selected five cars for everyday use that combine cost-effectiveness, balanced consumption, and robustness, based on real data from the Fipe Table and technical history.

1. Hyundai HB20S 1.6

Cars for everyday use with large trunk, economy, and reliable mechanics for up to R$ 58 thousand

The Hyundai HB20S is the sedan version of the popular HB20, but with a significant difference: a trunk of 450 liters, ideal for those who need more space without giving up a compact car. The 1.6 engine model delivers good performance even in large urban centers and has an average consumption of up to 14 km/l on the highway with gasoline.

Besides being attractive, the HB20S is easy to maintain and has good resale value. Preventive maintenance is straightforward, and the cost of parts is affordable. According to the Fipe Table from July 2025, versions from 2015 can be found for around R$ 45 thousand. It’s a safe choice for those who drive a lot in the city and want comfort and economy.

2. Fiat Cronos 1.3

The Fiat Cronos stands out for its modern design and practicality in urban use. Equipped with a 1.3 Firefly engine, it offers a good balance between performance and economy, achieving up to 12.5 km/l with gasoline in the city. The trunk of 525 liters is one of the largest in its category, making it great for families or app drivers.

In addition, the Cronos has a good supply of parts and uncomplicated mechanics. Manual versions from 2020 are priced starting at R$ 58 thousand on the Fipe Table. As a fairly recent model, it also features embedded technology and good finishing, making it one of the best cars for everyday use in the national market.

3. Honda Fit 1.5

The Honda Fit is synonymous with versatility. Despite being compact on the outside, it offers one of the best space utilizations in its category on the inside. The foldable seat system (Magic Seat) allows for various configurations, making the car useful for transporting large objects or passengers comfortably.

The version with a 1.5 engine and CVT is particularly economical, achieving up to 16 km/l on the highway. The Fit is valued for Honda’s brand reliability and durability. According to the Fipe Table, 2016 models cost around R$ 51 thousand. For those seeking peace of mind, the Fit is a surefire choice.

4. Renault Logan 1.6

The Renault Logan is known for being robust and spacious. Its biggest asset is the 510-liter trunk and ample interior space. Ideal for those who frequently transport cargo or passengers. The version with a 1.6 engine and manual transmission provides reliable performance and reasonable fuel consumption for a sedan, averaging up to 13 km/l in the city with gasoline.

It’s easy to find used Logans at affordable prices. Versions from 2018 with a 1.6 engine are listed at around R$ 42 thousand on the Fipe Table.
