Reliable, Cheap, and Overlooked Models in the Used Market Still Deliver a Lot for What They Cost

The used car market is not just about new releases. Some noteworthy cars remain overlooked in searches, despite being reliable, affordable, and well-equipped. Many of them have been discontinued but are still great choices for those looking to avoid high prices for popular new models.

The depreciation, combined with low demand, has created interesting opportunities with simple maintenance, good fuel consumption, and a complete package. In this list, we highlight models with a positive history that deserve a second chance in the Brazilian garage.

1. Fiat Uno Way 1.4 — Robust Design and Simple Maintenance

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Fiat Uno Way 1.4 stands out from the basic versions due to its more robust appearance, with higher suspension and plastic details on the bumper. The model features a Fire 1.4 flex engine with up to 88 hp, good torque, and reasonable fuel consumption: up to 13 km/l on the highway with gasoline. In urban usage, it is economical and durable.

Despite its “adventurous” appeal, the Uno Way is often overlooked in favor of classic models of the old Uno. Today, well-maintained units cost between R$ 31 thousand and R$ 34 thousand, with air conditioning, power steering, and a refreshed look. Among the noteworthy cars, it is one of the most practical for everyday use.

2. Ford New Fiesta Mexican — The Premium Compact That Nobody Seeks

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Mexican version of the Ford New Fiesta, produced before nationalization, features superior finishing and safety: it has 7 airbags, stability control, and electric steering. The engine is the reliable 1.6 Sigma, which achieves up to 14 km/l on the highway with gasoline.

Even though it is an extremely complete car, the Mexican Fiesta is often left aside in the market. But it delivers a lot for little: models from 2012 to 2014 cost around R$ 38 thousand to R$ 40 thousand. It is one of the most underrated noteworthy cars in the segment.

3. Kia Soul 1.6 — Unique Style and Kia Reliability

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Kia Soul is one of the most peculiar cars on the list. With a boxy design and an urban feel, the model mixes hatch and SUV elements. The 1.6 flex engine offers good performance, average fuel consumption of up to 11 km/l with gasoline, and an elevated driving position.

Few people remember it exists, but the Soul offers comfort, reliability, and good resale value, in addition to being well-equipped even in manual versions. Today, it is possible to find examples priced at R$ 37 thousand to R$ 39 thousand, providing great value for money among the forgotten noteworthy cars.

4. Chevrolet Agile 1.4 — Spacious and Brave Compact

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Chevrolet Agile was designed to be a more robust compact hatch, with a tall look and generous space. It has a reliable 1.4 engine, urban consumption around 8.5 km/l with gasoline, and a simple but functional finish. Some versions come with an automated transmission.

The model has been discontinued for years, but remains a rational option. Well-kept units cost between R$ 31 thousand and R$ 34 thousand, especially in the LTZ version. It is one of the most unjustly overlooked noteworthy cars — reliable, spacious, and easy to maintain.

5. Nissan March 1.6 — Small on the Outside, Warrior on the Inside

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Nissan March is lightweight, agile, and durable. The version with a 1.6 engine is a true urban rocket, with fuel consumption of up to 15 km/l on the highway with gasoline and good durability. Even the 1.0 versions offer good urban performance, with low maintenance costs.

Despite all its positive aspects, the March often goes unnoticed in used car searches. Today, units from 2015 to 2017 cost between R$ 29 thousand and R$ 35 thousand, making it one of the best options among the noteworthy cars for those looking to spend little and drive comfortably.

6. Renault Logan 1.6 8V — Sedan Space, Hatch Cost

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Renault Logan in the 1.6 8-valve version is known for being robust, spacious, and economical. With simple maintenance and a huge trunk (510 liters), it is a great alternative for those needing space without spending much. Fuel consumption with gasoline exceeds 13 km/l on the highway.

Despite so many qualities, the Logan remains in the shadow of rivals like Prisma and Voyage. However, units from 2015 to 2016 can be found for R$ 35 thousand to R$ 38 thousand, making it one of the most discreet and efficient noteworthy cars among compact sedans.

7. Fiat Idea 1.4 Attractive — Practical Minivan That Became a Bargain

Forgotten and Valuable: Notable Cars Under R$ 38 Thousand that the Market Overlooks

The Fiat Idea faded away with the SUV craze, but it is still an excellent family option. The 1.4 Attractive version has versatile interior space, a good driving position, and functional trunk. The Fire 1.4 engine is durable and parts are easy to find.

Since it is no longer in demand, the Idea has fallen into oblivion. Today, 2014 to 2015 models can be found for R$ 33 thousand to R$ 36 thousand, and are very valuable for their proposal. It is one of the most unjustly overlooked noteworthy cars from Fiat — practical, spacious, and reliable.

These noteworthy cars show that the market for used cars still hides hidden gems. Due to depreciation or simple neglect, many reliable and well-equipped models are available at low prices and high usability value. For those seeking value for money, it’s worth looking beyond the obvious.
