Valgroup signed a 15-year agreement with Casa dos Ventos to use clean energy in its operations. In total there will be 25 MW of renewable energy
One of the largest plastic transformers and recyclers in the world, Valgroup, signed a clean energy purchase and sale agreement with Casa dos ventos, announced this Monday (29). The renewable energy agreement, which will last for 15 years, will guarantee an average volume of 25 MW for the industry, which is equivalent to approximately half of the energy consumed by Valgroup in the country, according to a note, which did not provide financial details.

The renewable energy agreement with Casa dos Ventos will guarantee electricity from the third quarter of 2023, replacing part of the energy used by Valgroup, which comes from unsustainable sources.
Valgroup's mission is to expand this percentage gradually, according to the statement. The clean energy generated will come from the Babilônia Sul Wind Complex, which is still being developed by Casa dos Ventos in Bahia and will have 360 MW of installed capacity.

In total, there will be around R$ 2 billion in investments by Casa dos Ventos, in the wind complex. The agreement also makes it possible for Valgroup to become a self-producer of energy, through the purchase of a stake in the complex. This way you will have guarantees of supply and costs that are even more competitive in the market.
Casa dos Ventos invests in renewable projects to solidify its presence in the country
Acciona Energia recently signed an agreement with Casa dos Ventos for the purchase of two clean energy projects under development in Bahia, which together can reach a capacity of 850 MW.
The agreement shows the Spanish company's entry into the national renewable energy market. The parks are in the process of obtaining the required authorizations for their execution, which is scheduled to start next year.
The company is also analyzing other wind and solar energy projects to solidify its presence in the country, with the mission of being an active agent in the energy transition, contributing to the decarbonization of the economy and business activity. According to both companies, the intention is to encourage the region's workforce in the future, generating jobs and income for the population of Bahia.
