The Cattalini Terminals Company Is Making a Strong Investment in the Degummed Oil Handling Infrastructure with Changes in the Tank Centers and the Distribution of the Product Unloading in Light of the High Demand in the Current Scenario.

For this Monday, (07/11), the cargo handling company Cattalini Terminals is making a strong investment in the unloading and transportation of degummed oil in its structures, as a way to meet the high demand of the international scenario. Thus, the company is seeking changes in its infrastructure, with alterations in the use of its tank centers, and ensures greater agility and quality in the supply of this product in its terminals.

Degummed Oil Handling Infrastructure at Cattalini Terminals Is Receiving Investment to Meet Product Demand in the Domestic Market

The transportation and storage company Cattalini Terminals seeks to ensure greater quality in its degummed oil handling operations and, to this end, has made an investment in the infrastructure of these activities. To achieve this, in addition to Tank Center 2 (TC2), TC3 is also currently handling the unloading of the product and ensures a dynamization of oil handling operations, which were previously limited to TC2.

Thus, Cattalini Terminals has been focusing its efforts to ensure the necessary investment for operational improvements and has already allocated resources to road platforms and made adjustments to logistics, which promoted an increase in productivity, keeping up with the growing demand for the product.

The company’s results regarding the handling of the goods show that about 116,500 tons of degummed oil were exported by Cattalini Terminals only during the month of June this year, marking a 48% increase compared to the same period last year.

Therefore, the investment in changes to the unloading and handling infrastructure of degummed oil is becoming increasingly necessary, and the change in the use of tank centers has been ensuring improvements in activities. This is because, until now, TC3 was characterized by the loading and unloading of road fuels, but the strong increase in demand for degummed oil caused part of these fuels to be redirected to other centers.

Carlos Ichi, senior operations manager, commented on the importance of this change and said, “This flexibility has expanded the handling capacity of degummed oil to more than 250 vehicles in a single day. Furthermore, TC3, due to its spacious maneuvering area, allows for the efficient operation of larger vehicles, known as rodotrens, with nine axles and a capacity of 55 tons.”

Increase in Demand for Degummed Oil Continues and Changes in Cattalini Terminals’ Operational Infrastructure Are Ensuring Increased Productivity

In addition to the growth in degummed oil exports during the month of June this year, due to the high demand for the product, Cattalini Terminals also observed an increase in the volume unloaded via the road modal in the company’s operations, which currently averages 7,500 tons per day.

These results are strongly influenced by the simultaneous use of two port pipelines, which, according to Bruno Marcel Santos, logistics manager at Cattalini, generates a 50% increase in the loading board of ships and improves the agility of operations.

And, to continue making improvements, the investment project for infrastructure in the degummed oil tank centers has been divided into two phases, with the first already completed, including the replacement of pipelines and the adjustment of six road platforms to provide dedicated service for the handling of the goods.

Now, the company is moving on to the evaluation of the next improvements in the structure and aims to further expand the operational quality in the handling of degummed oil, which originates from the states of Paraná, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Goiás.
