The State of Bahia Has Been Heavily Investing in Research Regarding the Production Potential in the Mining Sector in the Region, and CBPM, Together with XCalibur Company, Delivered the Results of the Airborne Geophysical Study Conducted in Recent Weeks.
CBPM (Bahia Mining Research Company) continues to invest in the expansion of mining production in the state of Bahia and recently completed and delivered the results of an airborne geophysical study conducted with XCalibur Company in the northern part of the state. The main focus of the project is to map the productive potential in the mineral sector of the region, aiming to attract new companies and expand Bahia’s relevance in Brazilian mining.
Airborne Geophysical Study by XCalibur and CBPM in Northern Bahia Is Completed, and the Mining Mapping Results Were Presented in the State
The state of Bahia is becoming a reference throughout the national territory regarding investments in research and development of production projects in the mining sector. Recently, a new and significant initiative was completed by CBPM, an airborne geophysical study with XCalibur Company on the production potential of the northern part of the state.
Thus, the last few weeks included the completion of the study, and recently, the main results of the mineral sector mapping in the state were delivered.

The entire airborne geophysical study conducted by the companies aimed to find the necessary information to attract investments to mining production in the region. Therefore, the president of Lasa Prospecções, a representative of XCalibur in Brazil, Henrique Duarte, commented that “The technology used is the electromagnetic method, in the time domain, through helicopter. It is a method developed by the company in Canada, and the difference of this method is that it allows you to investigate mineral deposits at depths of up to 500 meters, depending on the occurrence. It is the method available in the industry with the best signal quality, the best resolution.”
XCalibur also commented on the mapping process of production opportunities in Bahian mining and highlighted that, although the challenges of information gathering were significant, the airborne geophysical study managed to gather the ideal mapping to expand the sector in the state.
Throughout the process, the company, in collaboration with CBPM, covered more than 1,178 square kilometers, corresponding to over six thousand linear kilometers of airborne geophysical data, a project that was quite lengthy and delicate regarding the reliability of the information.
CBPM Team Now Moves on to the Technical Analysis of the Airborne Geophysical Study Conducted by XCalibur and Seeks to Attract Investors for Bahian Production
The completion of the airborne geophysical study by XCalibur in Northern Bahia was a success, and now, the next step is to conduct a technical and meticulous analysis of the results obtained in the mapping by CBPM.
The geologist and master in geophysics responsible for CBPM’s Geophysical Projects, Ives Garrido, stated that the team from the Bahian mining company will now work on exploratory drilling and discovering new deposits with the data from the study.
Moreover, he emphasized that the areas airborne surveyed by CBPM encompass regions with a high and diverse mineral wealth. He further stated that publicizing the results of the airborne geophysical study allows the private sector to have access to a large volume of secure information, signaling numerous opportunities and thereby contributing to the secure investment of companies looking to explore the mineral production potential that the Bahian region possesses.
Finally, the president of CBPM, Antonio Carlos Tramm, stated that he sees a prosperous future in Bahian mining and hopes that the return on investments in research and mapping projects of productive potential begins to happen in the coming years with the arrival of new companies.
