The First Smart City Built From “Zero” in the Country Promises to Change Our Way of Living and Thinking About Real Estate.

With great prominence in wind energy, it is now standing out by presenting cities that excel in the Connected Smart Cities ranking, released by Urban Systems, which has been helping Brazil develop in various aspects.

What Can We Say About Laguna, the Smart City Built to European Standards but on Brazilian Soil?
Laguna covers about 330 hectares, which can be considered a small city or a very large neighborhood, but it is all planned to generate quality of life and unique features for those living within its boundaries. In addition to clean energy and a series of actions in favor of ecological policies, the city will also be an experiment in citizenship and inclusion.
As a smart city, we will have clean energy, shared cars, bicycles, and a range of other community devices that will allow people to live a more intense communal life and possibly enable this process to be expanded to the rest of the country and the world in the future.
Aligned with Brazilian reality, Laguna will not be an exclusive smart city for people with high purchasing power. The project includes individuals from lower-income classes who can move to this amazing city as well, but all processes are being carefully planned with all residents in mind.
About 200 families already live in the development. “People think that a smart city is aimed only at the A class, but we created something with high-standard infrastructure and technology at accessible prices,” says Susanna Marchionni, CEO of Planet Smart City in Brazil, the company responsible for the project.
Without additional payments, the structure includes an outdoor gym, soccer field, playground, innovation hub with free wifi, and a free neighborhood app. There will be shops including pharmacies, small markets, bakeries, supplement stores, open-air markets, and clothing and footwear shops.
