The HUB in Ceará has the potential to become one of the largest H2V (green hydrogen) players in the world, competing with other countries that have also begun implementation, such as Japan, the United States, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
This is the assessment of Monica Saraiva Panik, director of institutional relations at ABH2 (Brazilian Hydrogen Association), regarding the H2V project that the state of Ceará is implementing, considered by the Ceará government as the first in Brazil.

Many employers do not know, but the law guarantees domestic workers a 25% increase in salary during trips, 50% for overtime, 20% for night shifts, and 17 additional benefits that can lead to labor lawsuits if not paid.
The initiative, announced during a virtual meeting held last week, aims to make Ceará a global player in the production, storage, distribution, and export of renewable energy.
Thousands Of Jobs Will Be Created In Ceará With H2V Plants
According to a company statement, Base One will create thousands of jobs during construction and employ hundreds of operational staff full-time to manage its facilities, with positive and far-reaching social benefits for the local and state community.
The new plant will have the potential to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 10 million tons per year and will become the largest carbon emissions reduction project in the world.
“The HUB will contribute to the social, economic, technological, and environmental development of the state,” emphasized Roseane, adding that talks with global and local companies have already begun.
Port Of Pecém Is Considered A Strategic Point
The Pecém Complex is considered a strategic point, for example, for the production and export of green hydrogen, as there are already a large number of industries located there that can consume it.
Duna Gondim Uribe, Commercial Executive Director at CIPP (Pecém Industrial and Port Complex), explained that the port has competitive advantages due to its infrastructure and tax benefits.
The executive emphasized that the structure will serve as a mobilizer for the entire value chain, receiving components for offshore wind power plants, in addition to facilitating the installation of solar panels, electrolysis plants, H2 storage, desalination plants, and energy transmission lines.
The intention, according to her, is for H2V to be consumed not only by industries but also utilized in various logistical services and urban mobility.
Export Of Green Hydrogen In The Northeast
Regarding exports, the Ceará government stated that the Port of Rotterdam has a stake in the capital of Pecém, in addition to being a partner in this project.
The Commercial Executive Director at CIPP also commented that the idea is for the Port of Pecém to become the exit point for the green hydrogen produced in Brazil, while Rotterdam will be the entry point into Europe.
