Motorcycles to Replace the CG 160: Discover 4 Alternatives with More Performance, Technology, and Great Cost-Effectiveness in 2025

The national motorcycle market is increasingly heating up, with new options emerging all the time for those looking to update their model without sacrificing economy. The Honda CG 160 continues to be a true icon of Brazilian motorcycling, but those seeking motorcycles to replace the CG 160 can find alternatives with more performance, modern equipment, and built-in technology — often for similar prices. With its recognized durability, extensive dealership network, and uncomplicated maintenance, the CG 160 remains among the best-selling motorcycles in the country. However, the sector’s growth has brought new competitors that offer more for less. In this article, we selected four motorcycles to replace the CG 160 in 2025, all based on the current average price of the model, which is around R$ 23,101.

It is worth remembering that, despite the good options available, the CG 160 still stands out for factors such as easy resale, affordable parts prices (including aftermarket), and technical assistance in almost all of Brazil. If your priority is economy and practicality, it remains an excellent choice. But if the idea is to go beyond and invest in more performance, technology, or a modern look, these four alternatives deserve your attention:

Haojue DR160 — Technology and Modern Look for Under R$ 22 Thousand

The Haojue DR160 is a premium street model aimed at those seeking a bold design and more sophisticated finish, with an average price of R$ 21,172. Equipped with a 162 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, the motorcycle delivers 15 hp at 8,000 RPM and 1.43 kgfm of torque at 6,500 RPM.

Its highlights include a 100% digital panelABS front brakesupside-down suspension, full LED lighting, and tubeless tires, ensuring an aggressive look and superior technology compared to the CG 160. On the other hand, the DR160 still has a limited dealership network and a smaller tank, which may impact those who travel long distances frequently.

Bajaj Dominar 200 — More Power, 6-Speed Transmission, and Good Cost-Effectiveness

The Bajaj Dominar 200 is a robust and powerful option among the motorcycles to replace the CG 160, featuring a 199.5 cc liquid-cooled engine, a six-speed transmission, and impressive performance. It delivers 24.5 hp at 9,750 RPM and 1.89 kgfm of torque at 8,000 RPM —all for about R$ 20,420.

The motorcycle comes equipped with assist and slipper clutchdigital panelABS brakes on both wheels and upside-down suspension, providing performance and technology superior to the CG 160. The point of attention is the weight (158 kg) and the dealership network that is still in the process of expanding in Brazil.

Dafra NHX 190 — Aggressive Style and Connectivity with the Best Price on the List

If the look is decisive, the Dafra NHX 190 is an interesting alternative to the CG 160. With a 184.4 cc oil- and air-cooled engine, it delivers 18 hp at 8,500 RPM and 1.64 kgfm of torque at 7,500 RPM, combining solid performance with a striking street fighter appearance.

Highlights include a digital panelABS front brakesstandard USB port and aggressive look, with angular fairings and sporty finish. And the best part: it is the cheapest on the list, with an average price of R$ 20,088, delivering excellent cost-effectiveness.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 — Classic Style with Surprising Performance and Torque

Closing the list of motorcycles to replace the CG 160, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 surprises as a more robust option, featuring a retro look and excellent performance at low revs. Equipped with a 349 cc air-cooled engine, it delivers 20.2 hp at 6,100 RPM and a generous torque of 2.7 kgfm at 4,000 RPM, ideal for strong launches and comfortable everyday riding.

The Hunter 350 comes with ABS brakes on both wheels, a semi-digital panel, versions with full LED lighting, and a combination that balances modernity with a classic touch. Its weight is 181 kg, but the comfort and stability compensate for it. The price? Below that of the CG 160, with an average value of R$ 20,323.

Is It Worth Switching the CG 160 for a Newer Model?

If you are looking for a motorcycle with easy maintenance, good resale value, and a wide network of assistance, the Honda CG 160 is still unbeatable.

However, for those seeking a more modern look, more power, more technology, and features like a digital panel, LED lighting, and ABS brakes on both wheels, these four alternatives offer excellent cost-effectiveness and may better meet different profiles of motorcyclists in 2025.
