With 1.2 Turbo Flex Engine of 133 HP, Fuel Consumption of Up to 14.7 km/l and SUV Visual, the New Chevrolet Montana 2026 Arrives with Premium Technology, Comfort, and Smart Bed to Redefine the Compact Pickup Segment in Brazil.
Chevrolet is preparing to update one of its most important pickups in the Brazilian market. The new Montana 2026 arrives with the mission of consolidating its leadership among premium compact pickups, focusing on technology, efficiency, and design inspired by the brand’s medium SUVs.
Produced in São Caetano do Sul (SP), the Montana is currently the main product of GM in the light utility segment and arrives in the 2026 lineup with mechanical and electronic adjustments that make it more efficient, connected, and refined.
A Pickup with the Soul of an SUV
Since its re-introduction in Brazil in 2023, the Montana has positioned itself as a pickup with an urban focus, ideal for those seeking the robustness of a utility vehicle without giving up the comfort and driveability of an SUV.
The design of the 2026 line reinforces this concept: a robust front end with sharp headlights, LED signature, and front grille with a glossy black finish. The side lines follow the sporty style of the Tracker, with an integrated bed and enhanced aerodynamics.

At the rear, the elevated bumper and the name “Montana” prominently highlight the modern DNA of the new generation. Additionally, GM maintained the Multi-Flex bed system, capable of accommodating up to 874 liters of cargo with dust and water sealing—something rare in the segment.
Efficient Turbo Engine and Balanced Performance
Chevrolet’s big bet remains the 1.2 Turbo Flex engine, already used in models like the Tracker and Onix RS. This three-cylinder engine delivers 133 HP with ethanol and 132 HP with gasoline, along with a maximum torque of 21.4 kgfm, always paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The setup provides a smooth, quiet, and economical driving experience—fundamental qualities for urban customers who use the vehicle both for work and leisure. In tests conducted by specialized media, the Montana showed averages of 12.5 km/l in the city and 14.7 km/l on the highway, figures that place it among the most economical pickups in the country.
These values were achieved thanks to a more efficient calibration of the engine and aerodynamic improvements to the bumper and undercarriage. GM also reduced the weight of the structural assembly and improved the electronic management of injection, prioritizing more linear responses at low rpm.
Interior with Premium SUV Technology
Inside, the Montana 2026 resembles more a crossover than a traditional pickup. The dashboard adopts a two-tone finish, soft materials, and a new MyLink multimedia system with a floating 11-inch screen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly.
The 100% digital instrument cluster, automatic air conditioning, and wireless phone charger are features present in the more complete versions, bringing the model closer to medium SUVs in the driving experience.
The cabin offers good space for five occupants and features anatomically designed seats, premium fabric upholstery, and reinforced acoustic insulation. In practice, the Montana 2026 is the type of pickup designed for daily use—whether for work or travel.
Cutting-Edge Connectivity and Safety
Following GM’s global standards, the Montana 2026 incorporates advanced connectivity features, such as the OnStar system, which allows real-time assistance, tracking in case of theft, and remote updates via the internet.
Among the safety features are six airbags, automatic emergency braking, blind spot alert, front collision sensor, and tire pressure monitoring.
The model also includes stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and a new calibration of the braking system, ensuring faster responses even in emergency braking situations.
Performance, Comfort, and Versatility
The Montana 2026 manages to balance the comfort of an SUV with the practicality of a pickup. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 185 km/h, maintaining fuel consumption averages above direct competition— which includes the Fiat Toro 1.3 Turbo and Renault Oroch 1.6 CVT.
In urban use, the suspension-engine-transmission setup ensures comfort and stability, especially due to the rear axle with a torsion bar, which reduces vibrations. On the highway, the progressive electric steering and good acoustic insulation make driving smooth and safe.
Market and Price
The new Montana 2026 hits the market in LT, LTZ, and Premier versions, with estimated prices ranging from R$ 136,000 to R$ 160,000. The target audience is the urban consumer who desires a pickup with a bold design, good fuel economy, and superior finish compared to the average.
With over 20,000 units sold in 2024, the Montana is already among the most sold pickups in the country. The 2026 lineup promises to consolidate this position, betting on embedded technology and low maintenance costs—a combination that tends to attract even those who never considered owning a pickup before.
A New Standard for the Segment
More than just an aesthetic update, the Chevrolet Montana 2026 represents the consolidation of a new concept in the Brazilian market: the urban pickup with the soul of an SUV.
With efficient performance, exemplary fuel consumption, and an unprecedented technological package in the category, the model has the potential to redefine the balance between comfort, practicality, and economy.
While the competition still seeks to balance power and fuel consumption, GM bets on real efficiency and emotional design—and it’s exactly this that makes the new Montana 2026 one of the most awaited launches of next year.

Eita, materiazinha tendenciosa.
