If the update follows the standard of the Brazilian model, we can expect the new Chevrolet car to have new headlights with a more rounded and less aggressive design, a more modern front grille, and a bumper with a softer appearance.
With changes focused only on the design, the Cobalt from Central Asia should maintain the 1.5 gasoline engine with 106 hp of power. This specification is limited compared to the Brazilian model launched in 2016, which had two engine options: the 1.4 EconoFlex and the 1.8, which produced 102 hp and 108 hp of power, respectively.
Where Do The Cars Produced In Uzbekistan Go?
In addition to feeding the internal market of Uzbekistan, the new Chevrolet Cobalt produced by UzAuto is exported to other countries in the region, such as Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. However, there is still an impasse regarding its commercialization in Russia due to the Ukraine War.
At the factory located in Asaka, SUVs Tahoe, Equinox, Captiva, and Traverse are also produced, in addition to the well-known Onix, which is set to be replaced by the new Cobalt.
Since 2019, when it changed its name from GM Uzbekistan to UzAuto Motors, the company is also preparing another sedan for the local market, the Lacetti, which can be purchased online. This model was also sold in Brazil between 2005 and 2010 but did not leave many fond memories.
