The region, which is becoming a hub of accelerated growth, is now celebrating the Sucuriú Project, led by the Chilean giant Arauco. With billion-dollar investment, the Celulose Valley is now strengthening its position as a new industrial hub in Brazil.
Colossal project of Vale da Celulose relies on technology cutting edge
With a historic contribution, Arauco begins the largest project in Brazil with an investment of US$ 4,6 billion, which corresponds to around R$ 25 billion. The company will innocently build one of the largest cellulose factories in the world, very close to the Sucuriú River.

Located in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), the logic that a favorable environment attracts large projects and robust investments has been realized, especially in the region already known as the Celulose Valley.
This area is experiencing rapid growth, driven by investment from large cellulose industries, such as Brazil's recent new industrial hub, Sucuriú Project, from the multinational Arauco, which will become the largest investment in the history of the Chilean company.
This investment, approved by the company's board of directors, provides for a unit with advanced technology and automated systems, aligned with the principles of industry 4.0 and with the capacity to produce 3,5 million tons of bleached pulp per year.
Brazil's new industrial hub promises to generate thousands of jobs
In addition to the cutting-edge infrastructure, Arauco will benefit from the technological partnership of the Finnish company Valmet, which will provide equipment to optimize production processes and ensure sustainability.
According to Governor Eduardo Riedel, it will be a modern unit, which will generate thousands of new jobs, social and economic development, highlighting the State's commitment to attracting sustainable investments and job creation in the Celulose Valley.
The project for Brazil's new industrial hub is already in the earthmoving phase, and currently employs around 1.200 workers. It is estimated that, at the height of the construction, this number will reach 14.
The plant, scheduled to start operations in the second half of 2027, will be one of the largest in the world, generating not only direct jobs, but consolidating the regional economy in Vale da Celulose.
For the operation, the Arauco factory will have the largest Chemical Recovery Boiler in the sector, a Biomass boiler that uses production waste to generate energy, and a gasification plant for the production of biofuel.
This infrastructure will allow the project to produce 400 MW of energy, where 200 MW will be consumed internally, and the surplus will be made available to the national system.
Arauco's investment also focuses on sustainability

This plan includes investments in infrastructure and partnerships with institutions such as Senac, Sesi, Sebrae (MS) and the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to specific measures for the areas of health, education, public safety and housing.
According to Theófilo Militão, Arauco's sustainability director, economic growth needs to be aligned with social development, a concern that reflects the company's values.
