This week, CPH delivered to the population of the state of Pará the reform of the Alenquer Waterway Terminal, which received an investment of R$ 4,5 million for infrastructure works, aiming to guarantee more safety and operational quality.

This Tuesday (28/06), the Government of Pará, through the Companhia de Portos e Hidrovias do Pará (CPH), will hand over the renovated Passenger and Cargo Terminal in Alenquer, in the Lower Amazon, to the population. For infrastructure works, a investment a total of R$ 4,5 million, and residents of the region will benefit from an even more efficient transport structure.

CPH will deliver the Alenquer Waterway Terminal to the population after carrying out infrastructure works for a total reform of the structure of Pará 

The government of the state of Pará will hold a ceremony this Tuesday for the delivery of the Alenquer Waterway Terminal, completely renovated and with a quality structure for the population. The delivery will be made by CPH, responsible for managing the infrastructure works project at the terminal, which now has a much higher operational quality, in addition to more security and an excellent structure for transport operations in the region.

Thus, during this coming Tuesday, the president of the CPH, Abraão Benassuly, and the state governor, Helder Barbalho, will participate in the handover ceremony of the port, which will benefit more than 80 inhabitants of the state of Pará.

The Alenquer Waterway Terminal went through a period of stoppage of infrastructure works for about 13 years and will now be delivered to the population by CPH. In this way, the state government seeks to guarantee the population quality transport in the state of Pará with the investment of R$ 4,5 million applied to the project.

Thus, the painter Leandro da Silva Santos, 34 years old, celebrated the completion of the works project, which had an investment of R$ 4,5 million, and highlighted: “I was born and still live in Alenquer, and I know very well what it's like to live in a city where river transport is the most popular way to get around. We needed to go in search of medical attention, and with the floods, it was impossible to get around, because without the terminal, the roads were full, and there was no way to get out by car or motorcycle. Now let's go back to being happy again."

Infrastructure works at the Alenquer Waterway Terminal will ensure more quality in transport operations and greater mobility for the population

The Alenquer Waterway Terminal underwent a series of renovation works in its infrastructure and, after the millionaire investment by the state government, will be able to meet the demand of the Pará population. Thus, among the port's new facilities, there are comfortable chairs, men's, women's and disabled toilets, luggage trolleys, ticket sales counters, snack bar, rooms for government agencies, luggage storage, TV and drinking fountain.

In addition, the infrastructure works also included the installation of a two-jointed covered metal ramp and a covered floating one, for passenger boarding and disembarking. This is a structure that did not exist in the area before and now guarantees even more quality in the transport operations of the population in the region.

Finally, the Alenquer Waterway Terminal still now has a Sewage Treatment Station (ETE), in addition to signage, accessibility and landscaping.

The new port will be managed by the Municipality of Alenquer and the CPH hopes that the works project can contribute positively to improving the quality of life and mobility of the population in the region, aiming at not only economic growth in the state, but primarily social.
