Launched in Partnership with Indian Bajaj, the New Triumph Scrambler 400 X Arrives in Brazil with a Robust Technology Package, Classic Design, and a Competitive Price for the Segment.
According to the review channel Motoplay, Triumph launched in Brazil one of its most accessible motorcycles, the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The model, a result of a partnership with the Indian giant Bajaj, was a sales success since pre-sale and aims to attract a younger audience and new consumers to the English brand, with a proposal that combines design, technology, and a competitive price.
The motorcycle enters into a heated segment, offering a complete package for those seeking a versatile bike for both asphalt and dirt. With a torquey engine and premium finish, the Scrambler 400 X positions itself as a strong competitor in its category.
What Defines the Style of the New Triumph Scrambler 400 X?
The motorcycle’s visual is inspired by the “scrambler” style, which emerged in the past with the customization of bikes for off-road use. The new Triumph Scrambler 400 X follows this line, featuring a classic yet modern design, characteristic of the brand. The teardrop-shaped tank with two-tone paint and the Triumph emblem in various parts of the bike reinforce the identity of the family.

The finish is one of its highlights. The bike comes factory-equipped with items that are typically accessories, such as hand guards, radiator guard, oil pan guard, and a plastic cover on the headlight. The lighting is full LED, including headlight, taillight, and turn signals, and the motorcycle has a “dark” look, with many darkened parts that contrast with the golden front forks and the chrome details of the dual exit exhaust.
Engine and Performance: What to Expect from the 40 Horsepower in the City and on the Road?

The new Triumph Scrambler 400 X is equipped with a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with 398.15 cc. It delivers a power of 40 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 3.8 kgf.m. The gearbox has six speeds, and the final drive is by chain.
In tests, the engine proved to be quite torquey and exciting, with good pickups in the city. On the road, the bike easily exceeds 120 km/h and can reach 160 km/h under favorable conditions. However, at higher RPMs, above 8,000, the vibration from the single-cylinder engine becomes noticeable, causing some discomfort.
Technology and Handling: ABS ByBre Brakes, Inverted Suspension, and More
The onboard technology is one of the major differentiators of the new Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The bike features electronic throttle, slip and assist clutch, which makes engagement smoother and prevents the rear wheel from locking during abrupt downshifts, and traction control, which can be turned off.
The front suspension is of the inverted fork type, with a diameter of 43 mm and 150 mm of travel. At the rear, the bike uses a monoshock with an external gas reservoir, 150 mm of travel, and preload adjustment on the spring. The braking system is from ByBre (a subsidiary of Brembo in India), with a large 320 mm disc at the front and a four-piston radial caliper. At the rear, the disc is 230 mm. The two-channel ABS system from Bosch can be disabled at the rear wheel for off-road use.
Positive and Negative Points of the New Triumph Scrambler 400 X
The evaluation of the motorcycle reveals a balance with more pros than cons.
Positive Points: The design and premium finish are highlights. The onboard technology (switchable ABS, traction control, slip clutch) is a significant differentiator in the category. The engine is powerful and fun, the brakes are efficient, and the handling is agile. Other strong points include standard accessories and maintenance every 16,000 km.
Negative Points: The vibration of the engine at high RPMs was the main point of discomfort. The dashboard, with a digital tachometer, could feature a digital speedometer for better visibility. The comfort for the passenger is limited, and the lack of a central stand as standard may hinder maintenance.
Price, Consumption, and Insurance: Is It Worth Buying the Triumph Launch?
The new Triumph Scrambler 400 X was launched with a suggested retail price of R$ 33,990. In mixed-use tests, the average consumption recorded on the panel was 30 km/l, a number considered good for the category.
A simulated insurance quote for a 39-year-old man in Mogi das Cruzes (SP) showed annual values starting from R$ 1,954 for theft and robbery coverage, and R$ 2,470 for comprehensive insurance from Porto Seguro. Considering the technology package, performance, and finish, the Scrambler 400 X presents itself as an excellent cost-benefit option in its segment.
