With Elevated Steering Position, Automatic Transmission with 6 Gears, and Safety Package with Curtain Airbags, the Kia Sportage EX2 2014 Delivers Electric Steering, Dual Zone Air Conditioning, and Proper Finish for Those Seeking a Balanced Medium SUV for Urban and Highway Use, Keeping the Keyword Kia Sportage EX2 2014 as the Technical Focus of the Comparison.

The Kia Sportage EX2 2014 occupies a specific space in the used market: it caters to those who want to transition to a medium SUV without sacrificing reliability and rational operating costs. For around R$ 80 thousand, it offers a 2.0 engine, automatic transmission with six gears, and a set of comfort and safety features that are above average for the segment in its model year.

Behind the wheel, the Kia Sportage EX2 2014 stands out for its precise electric steering and an independent suspension on all four wheels that prioritizes stability and comfort. The result is a solid ride, well insulated acoustically, and with competent overall ergonomics for trips, maintaining the family-oriented usage proposal as the core of the product.

Overview and Market Position

With a price of R$ 80 thousand and 6-speed automatic transmission, this 2.0 offers electric steering, dual zone air conditioning, and curtain airbags; meet the Kia Sportage EX2 2014

The Kia Sportage EX2 2014 competes for space among the medium SUVs of its time, with a design proposal that remains current and consistent content delivery.

In dimensions, it measures 4.44 m in length, 2.64 m in wheelbase, and 17.2 cm of ground clearance, suitable for urban use and occasional irregular roads.

The 28.1-degree approach angle and 28.2-degree departure angle assist with ramps and ditches without compromising daily usability.

The trunk capacity is functional and can be expanded by folding the seats, a solution that prioritizes family and luggage.

The external package with 18-inch wheels and 235/55 R18 tires complements the proposal for a stable set, without exaggerations.

Mechanical Set and Transmission

The 2.0 16V engine delivers 169 hp and 20 kgfm on gasoline and 178 hp and 21.4 kgfm on ethanol, working with a 6-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter.

Short ratios favor linear responses, and the pairing with the transmission prioritizes smoothness.

In practice, going from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in about 12.2 s, a figure compatible with the size and proposal of the car.

In everyday use, the light electric steering makes maneuvers easier and reinforces the feeling of a well-tuned city car, while the suspension calibration seeks neutrality in corners and competent filtering on irregular surfaces.

It is not a sporty setup, but rather predictable and comfortable.

Cabin, Safety, and Ergonomics

Inside, the Kia Sportage EX2 2014 offers dual zone digital air conditioning, curtain airbags, front and side airbags, as well as stability and traction control.

The two sunroofs add brightness and ventilation, and the driver’s seat with electric adjustments makes it easier to find the correct driving position.

The ergonomics are good, with comfortable seats and adequate support, but there are points to note: the steering wheel only has height adjustment, which may limit the fine fit for some profiles.

The absence of ISOFIX in this specific configuration requires attention from those needing to secure child seats with the standardized system.

Comfort and Connectivity Features

The EX2 version is designed to deliver objective comfort: keyless entry, good acoustic insulation, air vents for the rear seat, and a sound system with a subwoofer.

The dual zone AC and air distribution help keep the cabin stable on hot days, while the car’s electrical architecture allows for clean integration of media solutions when the owner wishes to upgrade the experience.

In daily use, front visibility and the glazed area aid in urban driving, and the side indicator repeaters on the mirrors enhance lateral signaling.

The foot-operated parking brake frees up space in the console and keeps the front floor organized.

Consumption, Maintenance, and Insurance

In reported real conditions for the set, gasoline consumption tends to range between 8 and 9 km/l in the city and 11 to 12 km/l on the highway.

With ethanol, the reference is approximately 5.5 to 6 km/l in the city and 8.5 to 9 km/l on the highway.

Progressive driving favors better figures, especially with properly inflated tires and regular maintenance.

In preventive maintenance, the EX2 shows no surprise costs for its size: oil and filter changes are within expected bounds, shock absorbers come at competitive prices for the segment, spark plug sets and coils are widely available, and suspension components have varied offerings.

For insurance, quotes usually remain at an intermediate level, reflecting a lower risk profile compared to more sought-after SUVs.

Strong Points and Points of Attention

Among the strong points, notable features include precise electric steering, quiet ride, complete comfort content, and a safety package with curtain airbags and electronic controls.

The design remains current, and the six-speed transmission delivers smoothness and predictability.

On the points of attention, there are concerns about the steering wheel’s only height adjustment, the absence of ISOFIX in this configuration, and the use of hard plastics in some areas.

The trunk is functional, however, there are rivals with superior useful volume when the priority is merely cargo.

The Kia Sportage EX2 2014 makes more sense for those seeking a medium SUV for around R$ 80 thousand with real comfort for use, consistent safety content, and robust mechanics.

If the priority is state-of-the-art technology or a more luxurious interior, other models may serve better.

If the goal is to balance price, comfort, safety, and predictability of costs, the EX2 remains a coherent proposal in the used market.

Would you prioritize the Kia Sportage EX2 2014 for its complete package or choose another medium SUV in this price range?
