The Factory, Located in Western SC, Is Set to Open in March 2024
Thanks to a partnership with Senai, Nestlé Purina and the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (Fiesc) were able to announce, this week, a training course for labor with 150 positions to work at the company’s new factory in Vargeão (SC). According to NSC Total, the forecast is that the manufacturing unit dedicated to producing wet food for pets will be inaugurated in March 2024.
During this year, six classes will be formed in partnership with the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai), each with 25 spots. Two of them have already begun in January, one aimed at residents of the region hired through selection processes by Nestlé Purina and the other for the general community.

The professional courses by Nestlé Purina with Senai will take place over two months at the unit in Xanxerê (SC). The first stage focuses on basic industrial concepts that can be applied in positions at other companies in the region. After that, participants will spend a month learning about Nestlé culture.

In the end, there is a qualification stage on the production line, where training will occur in Nestlé Purina factories. Some course participants will undergo training in the interior of São Paulo. Another 20% of future employees will be trained in industrial plants abroad, in countries such as Argentina and Hungary.

Nestlé is one of the largest manufacturers of processed foods in the world, while its subsidiary Nestlé Purina produces pet food.
The new manufacturing unit in SC was announced in June 2021, in a project with investments of R$ 2.5 billion. Construction began in the first quarter of 2022 and is expected to be completed in March 2024. By the end of this year, the forecast is to have over a thousand people working on its construction and installation, in a built area of 40,000 square meters.
