Peugeot e-2008 Will Be Discontinued in Brazil After Low Sales in 2025. Brand Is Already Preparing for the Arrival of the New Electric 3008 to Replace the Model.

The Peugeot e‑2008 will be discontinued in Brazil, announces UOL Carros after assessing the sales figures: only four units were sold between January and August 2025 — compared to over 600 since its launch in November 2022.

The electric utility vehicle imported from Spain is about to leave the national market due to low demand.

Meanwhile, the automaker is already preparing for the arrival of the new electric 3008 to fill the gap.

Context and Disappointing Sales of the Peugeot e‑2008

Since its debut in November 2022, the Peugeot e‑2008 — the only electric model from the brand available in Brazil — has sold more than 600 units.

However, in 2025, the numbers plummeted: only four units sold between January and August.

As a result, imports will be halted, and the car is expected to be discontinued as soon as the current stock is cleared.

Technical Details of the e‑2008 and Its Challenges

The Peugeot e‑2008 features an electric motor that delivers 158 hp and 26.5 kgfm of torque, powered by a 54 kWh battery, which ensures around 261 km of range according to Inmetro.

Charging up to 80% can be done in about 30 minutes when connected to a fast charger.

Despite these current specifications, the high price and reduced demand have prevented the model from gaining traction in the local market.

What’s Next: Peugeot’s New Bet

The gap left by the Peugeot e‑2008, however, will be quickly filled.

The French brand plans to launch the new electric 3008, a very modern medium crossover that will feature three electric versions abroad:

  • Electric 210: 210 hp, 35 kgfm, 73 kWh battery, up to 529 km of range.
  • Electric 230 Long Range: 230 hp, 35 kgfm, 98 kWh battery, up to 701 km of range.
  • Electric 320: dual motorization (front 210 hp + rear 110 hp, total of 320 hp), 73 kWh battery, range up to 500 km.

This new model is built on the STLA Medium platform and is expected to be imported, although there is speculation that it may be nationalized.

Overall Outlook and Market Implications

Although the Peugeot e‑2008 is saying goodbye to Brazil, its presence has played an important role in the brand’s electrification in the country.

It was the first 100% electric model from Peugeot to be officially sold here, and it served as a market test for the manufacturer to understand Brazilian consumer behavior regarding electric mobility.

Now, with the launch of the new 3008 electric, Peugeot aims to write a new story.

The question remains whether the brand can reposition its electric lineup more strategically and with a stronger commercial appeal — learning from the mistakes and successes of the e‑2008.
