Reinforcing Safety and Transmission Quality of Energy, Neoenergia Completed Its Construction Plan for the Distributors in the Northeast, Which Included an Investment of R$ 95 Million to Ensure Even Greater Efficiency in the Distribution of This Resource

Over the first three months of the year, Neoenergia carried out about 24 construction projects in its distributors in the Northeast for infrastructure and safety improvements. And with the completion of the plan, which included an investment of R$ 95 million, the company highlighted on Wednesday, (06/08), the relevance of the construction plan to make energy distribution even more efficient in the states of the northeastern region of the country.

Neoenergia Completed 24 Construction Projects with an Investment of R$ 95 Million in Energy Distributors in the Northeast for Safety and Infrastructure Improvements

Neoenergia closed the first three months of 2022 with the completion of 24 construction projects in 5 of its energy distributors in the Northeast, namely Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP and MS), and Neoenergia Brasília (DF). The entire construction plan included a total investment of R$ 95 million to ensure better conditions for resource transmission in the northeastern region.

And within the million-dollar investment that was applied by Neoenergia in infrastructure projects, there are some important works such as substations and distribution lines that were constructed or underwent expansion and modernization services.

This is a way to reinforce safety in energy transmission in the region and ensure better service quality, thus preventing the population from suffering from power outages or even long periods without the resource. Now, the northeastern distributors of Neoenergia have a much more advanced infrastructure and security to prevent these issues.

Furthermore, specialist Fabiano Uchoas, director of Transmission and Subtransmission Projects, commented that this is a highly necessary move for the current energy scenario in the country. This is because the demand for the resource has been growing increasingly, and to meet the needs of the northeastern region, the existing safety and infrastructure could no longer cope. Thus, the construction projects ensure greater energy efficiency and also contribute to the development of new job opportunities in the region.

Substation and Station Works in the Company’s Energy Distributors in the Northeast Are Highlighted in the Company’s Investment Plan for Safety

Among the main projects carried out by Neoenergia in its energy distributors are the works of Neoenergia Coelba, which now features the new Rio Formoso substation, with a capacity of 26.6 MVA, which will serve customers involved in agribusiness activities in rural areas. In addition, the substation is connected to the Pratudinho-Rio Itaguari distribution line, with a voltage of 138 kV, which will reinforce transmission for more than 284,000 people living in the region.

Another major highlight of the investment plan is the modernization of Neoenergia Elektro, which recently completed the digitization and power expansion project at the Cajati 01 substation. This way, the energy distributor is now able to enhance its security and technology for the transmission of resources to over 28,000 people in the region.

The works at Neoenergia Elektro also included improvements to the Protection, Control, and Automation System of the substation, which has been fully digitized and now ensures more automated control of operations.

In this way, Neoenergia seeks to prepare its distributors for the growing national energy market and thus further expand its relevance within the Brazilian energy segment, focusing on security and infrastructure of transmission lines.
