The growth in the field of electric vehicles in Brazil, driven by the discussion about the energy transition, now encourages fuel companies Vibra, Raízen and Ipiranga to bet on the creation of charging stations across the country for the coming years.

With a scenario of growing decarbonization in Brazil, the fuel companies Vibra, Raízen and Ipiranga are now investing in the expansion of charging stations in Brazil. It is believed that the filling stations of the electric vehicles should grow significantly over the next year, as companies have plans to build new sites across Brazil by 2023.

Construction of charging stations to supply electric vehicles is the new bet of Vibra, Raízen and Ipiranga for the year 2023 in Brazil

The use of electric vehicles is gradually becoming more and more present in the national territory and, therefore, the need to create an adequate infrastructure for these vehicles is growing. In this way, companies in the fuel sector plan a strong expansion of charging stations across the country, which serve as places for refueling these vehicles and guarantee more practicality for recharging the batteries.

Among the companies, Vibra is one of the main ones in the field, with projections to install 70 charging stations by the end of 2023, 50 of them on highways. The company intends, with the project, to develop the largest electric corridor to supply vehicles of this type in Brazil.

Thus, the president of Vibra, Wilson Ferreira Júnior, said: “The choice to prioritize our work at road stations was made because we identified that today the greatest difficulty for users of electric vehicles is related to the lack of charging infrastructure outside urban centers, compromising the user experience over long distances.”

Furthermore, j between Shell and Cosan, Raízen recently inaugurated its first Shell Recharge electric charging station, at a fast charging station in São Paulo, and has a project to install a network of 35 such charging stations by the end of the year -harvest, around March 2023.

The company Ipiranga is also focused on supplying electric vehicles in Brazil and currently has a plan to install 40 new charging stations across the country, after ending 2021 with a total of 44 charging stations already in operation.

For the development of its project to create the largest charging station corridor in the country, Vibra teamed up with the startup EZVolt and now intends to invest in the construction of charging stations in parking lots, commercial points, shopping malls and condominiums. In addition current goal of the fuel company is to provide electric vehicle charging services at 25% of its service station network by 2030.

Raízen is currently betting on partnerships with Shell and Volkswagen for the development of the vehicle electrification chain in the country. Thus, in addition to supporting the installation of charging stations in the country, the company also announced its participation in the investment round of R$ 10 million in the startup Tupinambá Energia, for the development of solutions aimed at electric vehicles in the national territory.
