Capacity of the largest oil and gas storage terminal in Angola
The Odebrecht Group will be responsible for the completion works on the Refined Products Storage Park and the construction of a dock for mooring ships, infrastructure considered essential for expanding the country's capacity for importing, exporting and storing oil products.
According to the company, this will be the largest storage terminal in Angola and will have an area equivalent to 22 soccer fields, a structuring project for the country's economy due to the need to ensure the maintenance of its strategic reserves of 580 cubic meters of liquid fuels (gasoline and diesel oil) and 102 cubic meters of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), enabling an increase in the trade balance.
Construction works will generate more than 3.000 jobs
Construction work on the largest oil and gas storage terminal in Angola will begin this September, and promises to generate around 3.500 direct jobs.
For Marcus Azeredo, OEC's Managing Director for Africa, this type of project is a specialization of the company, which gives it greater competitiveness. “Eight large companies with global operations participated in the bidding process, which started in January. Fortunately, we were able to offer the engineering project chosen by the customer”, he explains.
