We Put the Powerful POCO X7 Pro and the Refined Samsung A56 Side by Side to Discover Which of the Two Mid-Range Giants Offers the Best Set for You. We Analyzed Display, Cameras, Performance, and Battery.

The choice of the perfect mid-range smartphone has become more difficult with the arrival of the POCO X7 Pro and the Samsung A56. On one hand, Xiaomi bets on brute strength, with a gaming-focused processor and ultra-fast charging. On the other, Samsung seeks balance, offering a more premium design, a refined operating system, and a more consistent camera set.

Both devices are excellent and compete directly for the same consumer, but their proposals are distinct. While the POCO X7 Pro aims to impress with performance, the Samsung A56 bets on a more complete and long-lasting user experience. To help you decide which one deserves to go into your pocket, we made a detailed comparison of all the important points.

Design and Build: Aluminum and Glass vs. Vegan Leather

Here we have the first major difference between the two. The Samsung A56 features a more sophisticated build, with an aluminum chassis and glass back with Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection. Meanwhile, the POCO X7 Pro uses a plastic chassis but compensates with a vegan leather back, which offers a different and pleasant feel.

In terms of water protection, a surprise: the Samsung A56 has good IP67 certification, but the POCO X7 Pro goes further, with IP68/69 certification, which guarantees resistance to jets of hot water at high pressure, a rare differentiator.

Winner: Technical Tie. The Samsung A56 excels in material quality, but the POCO X7 Pro surprises with superior protection.

Display: Brightness and Smoothness in Focus

Both devices boast spectacular displays. They feature AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring vibrant colors and extremely smooth navigation.

The Samsung A56 has a slightly larger display at 6.7 inches, while the POCO X7 Pro measures 6.67 inches, but with thinner bezels, making them very similar in size. The major advantage of the POCO is the brightness: it reaches a peak of 3,200 nits, compared to 1,800 nits of the Samsung, making a noticeable difference under direct sunlight.

Winner: POCO X7 Pro.

Performance and Battery

This is the most distinguishing factor between the two models. The POCO X7 Pro is made for those seeking maximum performance. It is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor, which surpasses 1.5 million points on AnTuTu, making it ideal for heavy gaming.

The Samsung A56 comes with the competent Exynos 1580, which scores around 900,000 points. It runs everything smoothly but lacks the brute power of its rival.

In terms of battery, the POCO also has an edge with 6,000 mAh and a 90W charger in the box. The Samsung A56 has 5,000 mAh, supports 45W, but comes with only a 15W charger in the box.

Winner: POCO X7 Pro by a large margin.

Cameras: The Consistency of Samsung

YouTube Video

If the POCO excels in performance, the Samsung A56 aims for balance in its cameras. Both have a main sensor of 50 MP, but the similarities end there.

  • Ultra-wide: Samsung has a superior sensor, with 12 MP vs. POCO’s 8 MP.
  • Macro: The Samsung A56 has a dedicated 5 MP macro camera, absent in the competitor.
  • Selfie: Samsung’s front camera, with 12 MP, consistently delivers sharper photos with better image processing than the 20 MP on the POCO.
  • Video: Samsung records in 4K on all cameras, while the POCO is limited to Full HD on the front and ultra-wide.

Overall, POCO’s photos tend to be more saturated (“hot”), while those from the Samsung A56 are more natural and balanced.

Winner: Samsung A56.

Software and Final Verdict

The software experience is also a strong point for the Samsung A56. Samsung’s One UI is cleaner, ad-free, and has a much superior update policy, with up to 6 years of guaranteed support. POCO, with its HyperOS, is visually more cluttered and has a shorter update history.

Which one to buy? The decision depends on your profile:

  • Choose the POCO X7 Pro if: You seek maximum gaming performance, require a massive battery with ultra-fast charging, and don’t mind a system with more customizations and a just good camera set.
  • Choose the Samsung A56 if: You value a premium-built device, a clean operating system, and long support, a more reliable and versatile camera set, and don’t need the most extreme performance on the market.

And for you, which one comes out on top in this battle? The raw power of the POCO X7 Pro or the balance of the Samsung A56? Leave your comment!
