The São Paulo State Penitentiary Police announced the opening of a public competition with 1,100 vacancies for penitentiary police officers. The announcement was published in the State Official Gazette this Friday (10). The initial remuneration offered is R$ 4,695.60, an amount already adjusted according to Complementary Law No. 1,425/2025.
Applications will be open from November 3 to December 8, 2025, exclusively through the website www.institutoaocp.org.br.
Mandatory Requirements for Admission
According to the Organic Law of the Penitentiary Police (Complementary Law No. 1,416/2024), candidates must meet several prerequisites at the time of hiring. It is mandatory to have a graduation diploma in any Higher Education course or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and present a National Driver’s License (CNH) category “B” or higher.

Additionally, by the end of the application period, the candidate must be at most 35 years old, even if the deadline is extended.
The legislation also establishes that tattoos containing symbols or inscriptions offensive to the values and ethical duties of the corporation linked to the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP) will not be accepted.
The requirements will be assessed through medical, psychological, and toxicological examinations, which may be applied at any time during the competition and the probationary period.
Structure of the Selection Process
The AOCP Institute will be responsible for administering the tests.
The competition will consist of four eliminatory phases: objective test, physical fitness test with measurement of height, psychological examination, and proof of integrity and spotless conduct in public and private life, in addition to a social investigation.
Other Ongoing Competitions
The Government of São Paulo also maintains four other open competitions: one with 2,200 vacancies in the Military Police; another with 200 vacancies for state control auditors at the CGE, with an initial salary of R$ 17,850; another with 105 vacancies at Artesp, with salaries of up to R$ 12,070; and one with four vacancies at InvestSP, offering remuneration of up to R$ 13,321.
