Weather Forecast for Tuesday (03/03) Indicates Storms in the North and Northeast, with Risk of Heavy Rain, and Heat with Low Humidity in the South, Southeast and Central West. Check the Details by Region.

The meteorological scenario for this Tuesday (03/03) shows a Brazil divided between extremes. While states in the North and Northeast face risks of storms with rain and high accumulations, areas in the South, Southeast and Central West deal with persistent heat and relative humidity below 30% in various locations.

This configuration results from the influence of a trough at mid-levels of the atmosphere, the formation of a low-pressure area between Paraguay and northern Argentina, and the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and a High-Altitude Cyclonic Vortex (HACV), systems that keep the atmosphere unstable primarily in the northern half of the country.

Northeast Under Direct Influence of Systems That Reinforce the Rain

The atmospheric circulation keeps active heavy clouds in the west, the northern half, and the coast of Bahia.

The same pattern is repeated in Piauí, much of Maranhão, Ceará, Sergipe, Alagoas, and the west of Pernambuco and Paraíba.

In the afternoon, the instabilities intensify and can cause storms in Piauí, Sergipe, Maranhão, Ceará, and Bahia, as well as in the western half of Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Alagoas.

The alert focuses on the high accumulations predicted for Piauí and Bahia, as well as the south, east, and coast of Maranhão, western Ceará, Pernambuco, and southern Sergipe.

Even with the overcast sky, the heat continues to be present.

North with Frequent Showers and Elevated Risk in Tocantins

Tocantins is among the most concerning areas of the day. Rain affects much of the state since the early hours and tends to intensify throughout the afternoon, with the possibility of storms across nearly the entire territory of Tocantins.

The extreme east of the state may record more significant volumes.

In southern Pará and eastern Amazonas, showers also occur early and spread to other areas of Amazonas and central-southern Pará throughout the day.

Rondônia, Acre, and eastern Amapá are on the path of stronger instabilities.

Meanwhile, northern Amazonas, northwestern Pará, and Roraima remain with more sunshine.

In these areas, humidity may drop below 30%, especially in Roraima, where winds can reach gusts of 40 to 50 km/h in the northern part of the state.

Central West Alternates Between Heavy Rain in the North and Dry Weather in the South

Between Mato Grosso and Goiás, especially in the northern and northeastern areas, the atmosphere remains favorable for showers since the beginning of the day.

In the afternoon, the northern half concentrates the heaviest volumes, with a risk of storms in the western and northern regions of Mato Grosso and in the extreme north of Goiás.

In western Mato Grosso do Sul, available humidity maintains the potential for rain throughout the day.

In contrast, in southern Mato Grosso and southwestern Goiás, the precipitation appears in a more irregular and less intense manner.

In contrast, heat remains widespread in the region. In southern, southeastern, and eastern Mato Grosso do Sul, the relative humidity levels may fall below 30%.

Southeast Combines Heat, Isolated Showers, and Drop in Humidity

In Minas Gerais, the north and interior register isolated showers still in the morning. As the day heats up, the rain intensifies in northern Minas and may occur moderately to heavily in the west and south of the state.

The interior of Rio de Janeiro may also experience episodes of more intense rain.

In São Paulo, the circulation of winds limits the organization of broader systems, but does not rule out strong isolated showers in the extreme northeast of the state.

The western part of São Paulo and the extreme Triângulo Mineiro may register humidity below 30%.

On the coast of São Paulo and the extreme south of Minas, temperatures remain milder.

South Will Have Gradual Change Throughout the Day

The morning period shows greater stability in Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, with sunshine among clouds.

From late morning onward, heating and the mid-level trough favor the formation of instability areas, initially in western Santa Catarina.

Throughout the afternoon, rain moves inland. The south of Paraná may register stronger showers, while the interior of Paraná and the Serra Gaúcha tends to have lighter precipitation.

The low-pressure area situated between Paraguay and northern Argentina contributes to reinforcing the instabilities in the west, southwest, Campanha Gaúcha, and interior of Rio Grande do Sul.

Even with the occurrence of rain in isolated spots, heat continues to prevail. In the west, northwest, and north of Paraná, humidity may drop below 30%.

The coastal regions of Rio Grande do Sul may record gusts of 40 to 50 km/h.

Recommendations

Given the risk of storms in the North and Northeast and low humidity in the Central-South, Tuesday requires caution.

In areas with a forecast of intense rain, there is a possibility of flooding and lightning.

In drier regions, it is important to reinforce hydration and avoid prolonged sun exposure during the hottest hours.
