Until mid-2008, Toyota Corolla fans in the automotive market were supported by two versions of Toyota's classic car. The model was offered here in the traditional sedan body style, as well as the station wagon model, known as the Toyota Corolla Fielder 2005. This Toyota car arrived here in 2004, as a 2005 model, with the right to national production and remained here for four years.

History of Toyota's classic car in the automotive market

In May 2004, the brand announced the arrival of the 2005 Corolla Fielder to Brazilian consumers. As standard, the classic Toyota car had features such as ABS anti-lock brakes, dual front airbags, electric windows, locks and mirrors, air conditioning with heating and power steering.

It also features a height-adjustable steering wheel, central console with cup holders and storage compartments, rear window defroster, windshield wiper with timer, sound system with CD player, height-adjustable driver's seat, among others.

The engine is a 1.8 16V with 136 horsepower and 17,5 kgfm, with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. At the time, Toyota's popular car was advertised with a price of R$56.040 for the manual model and R$59.950 for the automatic configuration. The station wagon was produced at the Indaiatuba plant, Sรฃo Paulo, alongside the Corolla.

The brand's initial expectation was to sell at least 4.650 units of the 2005 Toyota Corolla Fielder in the automotive market in the model's first year. This milestone was not only reached, but also surpassed: Toyota's classic car closed 2004 with 4.863 units registered, compared to 562 Peugeot 307 SW cars and 240 Peugeot XNUMX SW units. Fiat Marea Weekend.

What does the Toyota car that beats current models look like?

In practice, this popular Toyota car in the automotive market is a conventional Corolla Sedan up to the โ€œBโ€ column. However, the station wagon can be known for some exclusive details applied by the brand, such as the headlights with a black mask and the black front grille.

Seen from the side, the classic Toyota car shows a straighter roof to accommodate the larger trunk. One of the main signs of this are the slightly different shaped rear doors and the third window, which gives the station wagon a larger glass area.

At the rear, there are vertical lights, a trunk lid with an integrated license plate holder, more upright glass, a bumper with cleaner shapes and even a spoiler attached to the upper part of the lid.

Interestingly, the 2005 Toyota Corolla Fielder is shorter than the Corolla. The station wagon is 4,53 feet long, while the sedan is 4,53 feet long.

The width is the same, at 1,7 m, while in height the family model has the advantage with its 1,53 m (5 cm more), this is due to the longitudinal roof bars. The wheelbase is also the same in both, at 2,6 m.

However, just like the exterior with the rear spoiler, the Toyota car tries to be sportier in the cabin, with the instrument panel with speedometer superimposed on the rev counter and the seats with a different fabric pattern.

It is worth mentioning that, in numbers, Toyota's popular car reached 189 km/h and went from 0 to 100 km/h in 12,4 seconds. The consumption is 8,8 km/l in the city and 13,1 km/l on the highway, with autonomy reaching 484 km and 721 km, respectively.
