The program comprises 180 hours and aims to strengthen pedagogical actions that promote diversity, equity, and respect for human rights in the school environment.
Training Structure and Topics Covered
Organized into three independent modules, each with 60 hours, the course combines theory, educational legislation, and practices applied to the everyday reality of schools.
The meetings will be held in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), with synchronous activities and complementary tasks.
The proposal was developed by the Center for Gender, Race/Ethnicity Studies (CEGRES Diadorim) and the Continuing Teacher Education Program for Basic Education (PROGRES), in coordination with the Academic Unit for Distance Education (UNEAD/UNEB).
Target Audience and Training Objectives
The opportunity is aimed at teachers, coordinators, and managers of Basic Education, as well as graduates of degree courses interested in the topic.
The central objective is to enhance educators’ ability to identify discrimination situations and develop more inclusive pedagogical practices.
According to UNEB, the course also seeks to strengthen the school’s role as a space for dialogue and prevention of symbolic, structural, and institutional violence, focusing on the dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity.
Modules and Schedule
Module I addresses the foundations and policies of equity, focusing on the construction of inclusive pedagogical practices.
Module II, scheduled to begin in March 2026, will address strategies for preventing and confronting gender, race, and ethnicity violence in the school context.
Module III, planned for May 2026, will discuss empowerment of women and confrontation of sexism, in line with Law No. 14.452/2022, which established the Permanent Campaign for Women’s Empowerment and Confronting Machismo in public schools in Bahia.
Evaluation and Certification
To receive the certificate, the participant must attend at least 75% of the synchronous classes, complete all activities in the virtual environment, and achieve a minimum grade of 7.0 in the final evaluation of each module.
Those who complete one or two modules will receive a Extension Course Certificate corresponding to the completed hours.
Those who complete all three modules will be awarded a Certificate of Improvement (180h), issued by UNEB.
Legal Basis and Alignment with Public Policies
The training is aligned with national guidelines for education on human rights and state public policies that promote gender equity and diversity.
The course is directly related to Law No. 14.452/2022, which guides permanent actions in schools aimed at valuing women and preventing macho practices.
This initiative is also part of the continuing education program of SEC/BA, reinforcing the State’s commitment to creating safer, more democratic, and welcoming school environments.
Class Dynamics and Study Routine
Each module includes four synchronous meetings, held at times previously defined by the coordination, as well as asynchronous activities.
The methodology includes forums, case studies, and development of action plans focused on the realities of schools.
This combination of theory and practice aims to bring academic content closer to teachers’ everyday experiences, promoting reflections on the school’s role in building a fairer society.
Expected Results and Impact on Schools
With the training, it is expected that participants will be better prepared to recognize and intervene in situations of inequality, develop pedagogical strategies to confront discrimination, and propose practices that encourage respectful coexistence among all members of the school community.
Additionally, the course aims to create a collaborative network of educators committed to transforming pedagogical practices and implementing inclusive policies in education institutions across Bahia.
How to Register
Those interested in participating must register between October 1 and 27, 2025, by filling out the official electronic form that will be made available on UNEB and SEC/BA channels.
It is important to observe the deadline, check the required documentation, and follow the selection steps announced by the coordination.
After confirmation of enrollment, participants will receive instructions on accessing the platform, class calendar, and study materials.
As the course is free and has limited spots, it is recommended to secure registration as soon as possible to avoid missing the opportunity to obtain an official UNEB certificate and enhance teaching practice in diversity and human rights.
In an increasingly diverse and challenging educational landscape, how do you assess the role of continuing education in transforming the school environment into a truly inclusive space?
