Even Out of Production Since 2020, the Sedan Reappears Among the Best Buys Under R$ 65,000, Thanks to its Reliable Mechanical Set, Cheap Maintenance, and Superior Performance Compared to More Expensive New Models, According to Recent Evaluations

The used vehicle market has been revealing opportunities that many people never imagined, and one of the best examples of this is the Chevrolet Cobalt LTZ 2020, a sedan that disappeared from the spotlight after production ended but has now returned to the debate among experts and consumers. The information has resurfaced on specialized automotive portals — as reported by the site that published the original article — highlighting that the model stopped being manufactured five years ago but still delivers superior attributes compared to many compact cars available at dealerships.

Moreover, according to the November 2025 Fipe table, the Cobalt LTZ 2020 is valued at R$ 65,350, solidifying itself as a financially much more interesting option than the Renault Kwid 0 km, whose price in the top version reaches around R$ 85,000. This difference of R$ 20,000 has been attracting the attention of those seeking savings without compromising on space and performance more suitable for family use.

Cobalt LTZ 2020: Why Is This Sedan Considered a Smart Buy Again?

The rediscovery of the model happens mainly because the Cobalt LTZ 2020 was the last version produced in Brazil, remaining the only one in the lineup until the end of national production. Therefore, many consumers are unaware that they are facing a vehicle with an excellent cost-benefit ratio. Still, as comparisons with zero-kilometer compact models intensify, it has come to be seen as a “find” in the market.

First of all, the highlight is due to the shared mechanics with the Chevrolet Spin 2026, which makes life easier for those seeking affordable maintenance and plentiful parts. The 1.8 flex engine delivers up to 111 hp on ethanol and 106 hp on gasoline, with torque of 17.7 kgfm and 16.8 kgfm, respectively. As a result, the sedan maintains balanced performance both in urban commutes and on trips.

Additionally, the Cobalt’s fuel consumption is also impressive. In the city, the sedan registers 7.6 km/l with ethanol and 11.1 km/l with gasoline. However, on the highway, the efficiency increases significantly, reaching 10 km/l on ethanol and 14.4 km/l on gasoline. Thus, combined with a 54-liter tank, the total range can approach 800 kilometers, surpassing even more modern models that are presented as “economical.”

Interior Space, Huge Trunk, and Generous Equipment List Reinforce Cost-Benefit

However, it is not just performance that makes the Cobalt regain relevance. The interior space has always been one of the sedan’s biggest advantages. Its dimensions — 4.48 m in length, 1.73 m in width, and 2.62 m in wheelbase — make the model an excellent alternative for families, offering comfort that is hard to find in the same price range. But the biggest highlight is the trunk with 563 liters of capacity, which even exceeds some much more expensive current SUVs.

On the list of equipment, the Cobalt LTZ 2020 also does not disappoint. The model includes air conditioning, electric steering, ABS brakes with EBD, cruise control, rear parking sensor, tire pressure alert, fog lights, 3-point seat belts for all, ISOFIX system, electric windows, locks, and mirrors, internal or key-operated trunk opening, key fob, fog lights, 15” alloy wheels, height-adjustable steering wheel, on-board computer, and the 7″ MyLink multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as the Chevrolet OnStar concierge system.

Therefore, even after years in obscurity, the Chevrolet Cobalt LTZ 2020 reappears in 2025 as one of the smartest choices among used cars under R$ 65,000, combining good mechanics, above-average interior space, high autonomy, and a list of standard items that still impress at this price.
