Alongside efforts to recover in aviation, Germán Efromovich maintains revitalization plans in the shipbuilding sector. Estaleiro Ilha S.A. (EISA), in Caju, Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro, is trying to resume operations after years of inactivity.
EISA, controlled by the Synergy Group, seeks to reactivate its activities with the resumption of vessel construction and repair. The company has faced challenges in reviving production amid a still-recovering shipbuilding market but bets on the potential for expansion of projects related to offshore industry and port logistics.
In addition to EISA, Estaleiro Mauá, also under the influence of Germán Efromovich’s group, is another venture aiming to revitalize the national shipbuilding industry, motivated by the growing demand for maritime support and oil production.
Impact of the Pandemic and Challenges in the Aviation Market
The global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated difficulties in the aviation sector, further affecting companies linked to the Synergy Group. Closing borders, reducing the number of flights, and a decline in travel demand compromised the financial recovery of airlines.
Despite the gradual recovery observed from 2022 onwards, the aviation market in Latin America still faces challenges such as rising fuel costs, inflation, and increasing competition.
